Bad News

After quite a few rumors and ideas about the new Maywar convoy tank, I decided to ask WNP78, the 1.10 Update creator, if there is indeed a new tank. Here's what he said:


Notice how the heading, speed, and altitude is all the same as the convoy? We also don't see their vehicle in the picture either. That can be assumed because their vehicle is the tank.

In addition, look at the spacing of vehicles in this picture.

The convoy's vehicles are always evenly spaced. The tank, however, is too close. The original post also mentions how there is only one tank found in the convoys. That's because their vehicle is the tank and another one can't be put in place.

In this picture,

the heading, altitude, and speed are all matching a typical convoy. The appearance of it looking like a far away is simply done by zooming out. However, the tank is not the center of the image, odd because the chase/orbit cam is based on your vehicle's COM. A further test will have to be done to see if the heading and altitude match that area on the map.

Further Tests:

This image is of my vehicle at the approximate location of the original convoy image, roughly the same heading, and altitude.

Another point is the fact that the writer said "No one is sure what it is, so if you're lucky you may encounter it. But searching for it is probably not a good idea anyway". Not a good idea is saying, we won't find it 'cause its fake! The writer also said that they took down the post due to people wasting time looking for it.

And lastly, if the user who made the post really wanted to fool us, they should have turned on the Air-Ground Radar and showed us this new tanks HUD display w/name. Of course, it would have to be photoshoped in. Without it, it can be assumed that it simply is a player vehicle slipped in with the convoy.
