Anyone else getting fed up of the game randomly attaching stuff? I'm working on a 1000part (ish) swing wing build, now when I'm working on the tail plane there is really no need for the swing wing mechanism to gain 5 attachments to the bit that doesn't move... (literally no contact from me to that area)that's just one example, it happens so frequently it's starting to put me off.
Happens to me whenever I work on a turret. All the time.
This happens to me with car doors and suspension. The worst part is having to check every single part for connection issues and it gets really tedious
YES! THAT'S WHY THE ATTACHMENT EDITOR IS SOOO USEFUL
Yeah nah it only came around 1.5 years ago
@jamesPLANESii woah that was not always a thing?
Not gonna lie it does suck, at least make a little box for a true or false for auto reconnect
Use the fuselage inlet block for moving parts as much as possible. Its almost the same as the normal fuselage block but it only has 2 attach points making it more difficult to jam with random stuff
@X4JB yeah I do the same but when its bearing completion I have everything nudged back in to check movement and add the actual flight stuff and thats when the problems start occurring.
Yes. The way the game just randomly connects stuff is just... Oof
@Fungus I do manual connections
@RamboJutter I'll help
Disconnect all then auto reconnect, then delete unwanted connections
Yeah occasionally I rage quit for a couple of hours especially before we could connect/disconnect
Things like this make me wonder how we ever built without the attachment editor
It's SUPER annoying when you're dealing with moving parts. Every time you nudge, increase, or decrease the length of an object on the plane, moving parts seem like they have a random chance of trying to find connections for no reason. It's really irritating and part of the reason I don't bother rushing builds.
yeah random connections are pretty annoying especially when making moving mechanisms like turrets and bomb bays
I have quite some time ago transitioned to making all connections manually. This means that whenever I place a new block I remove all connections and add the connections I want manually.
What is also useful, especially on builds with moving parts like your swing wing, is temporarily nudging out the moving part that you are working on. This way you won't get any automatic connections to parts that you don't want it to connect to.
i can strongly relate to all of you
@BagelPlane same, anything that moves really, its getting to the point where I spend as much time fixing things as I fo building, really annoying and off-putting.
Yeah, generally I have that issue with landing gear and doors. That's why I constantly check part connections to make sure something isn't screwed up.
Im more fed up with the undo system being hot garbage
Like I'll place a part and ill undo it, and it'll undo my entire plane sometimes
Or some other times it'll undo one thing, but duplicate the entire forking plane leaving me with a hot glitchy mess
Laughs in not having to deal with that stuff Because I only post once every year
