What has SimplePlanes taught you?
SP is known to be one of the most educational games in the market, I wonder if it's true
I’ve learned many things from aerodynamics, wing types, how to make your plane stable and more things. It has also taught me about the community and how people can act on the internet
Aerodynamics (fun fact senior year I'll be taking a physics class, so excited), how to make working prototypes for idea that I have, how CoM, CoT, and CoL in relationship with one another on a plane effects how well or bad an aircraft will fly, and all of that fun stuff. It has also opened my mind to my passion for aviation, I love planes, and I love learning new things about them.
Everything
1 / 2n
, forn
is an integer andn > 0
, down to 0.0078125Well, a couple of things:
1) The Floor is made of Floor
2) Pentagon is susceptible to Funky Trees
...
Okay.
The game itself is an sandbox indeed so go amuse yourself with given instruments.
Cool? Seem to be.
We have to build a things that may fly, glide, swim, crawl, ride on and off roads and so on.We are trying to achieve a specific performance for our builds, through errors and basic problems. We learn how everything works and gain useful skills to create what we want here.
Cool? Seem to be.
We even have programming of sorts, so-called Funky Trees, and you can learn some math with them, aside from basic physics.
*Rhetorical-Question?Rhetorical-Answer.*
There is also a place to share and look on what others build, this website. And it is many people here. You can see something new every minute (if not less) in newest tab. You can socialize...
Cool? Yeah.
Also, there is a moment at 8000 RPM when you realize that points are pointless
You don't get bored of some things
I can detail the following
Information about things I've built and how they work, the learning of which spurred by an interest in replicating such functions (i.e. Submarine Ballast, Hydroplanes, Mcpherson and Semi Trailing Arm Suspension)
People here like builds that are 'out there' and unusual in their approach and results. Meme builds are a notable example, though the moderate to high popularity of many of my submarines show this as well given how they push what can be made functional (i.e. free diving submarines, submerged launched ballistic missiles).
NEVER. EVER. Do a collab with people of lesser skill than you, or else they might get greedy and try to leech points off your work. There's being generous, and then there's being exploited.
Don't do requests, while it's good to keep suggestions in mind, commiting to making something because people asked you too can similarly make you a target for greedy people.
The Keys to success on here are Patience and Persistence, patience to build and learn how to build better and Persistence in continuing to build. Unless you're truly bad at this game you will get somewhere in time. Just look at the early builds of people like me and Juanfly.
that online communities are a huge mistake
Adding infinite 0’s
like this monstrosity for example
SimplePlanes taught me that even the weirdest flight models can still fly but it’s also shown me the downsides about it
That I have less patience then I thought I had
Jokes aside quite a few things like how com ect, airo wing types general plane stuff
You WILL get better at anything you put your mind to.
Build awesome planes and I make trash teasers
unity sucks
everything but this (tap)
Learning about how center of mass affects flight
Pitch,Roll elevators work better farthest from the cockpit as well as a better understanding of the X,Y,Z axis and some coding with FT
@SCP1471 Hello
@Defalt1 hello there
Basic stuff how planes work
I also learned how trigger happy people are with starting drama on the internet.
probably learned more from SP than school
aerodynamics i guess, and that stuff don't simply work magically but has an explanation to why and how it occurs and why it does occur in everything in our daily lives, other than that, nothing
com col stuff
how different wing shapes work
point of dihedrals
fbw in a nutshell
never smash your keyboard for clicking undo
@RongahSah this game has taught me that fake internet points are everything in life rather than build quality, number of download.
