So I'm planning an upcoming event, I feel the community has been divided recently. It'll be an open car event to celebrate something that I know can, and does bring people together, automotive culture.
There will be more point driven events, and competitions in the future, (I even have a team based idea depending on how well this thing goes), but this is so people can show off, meet new people, exchange ideas, and celebrate car, and truck culture. So yes, bring your American Muscles, modded out Trucks, Tuners, and high performance Exotics. This event will most likely not have a part limit, hence the "Unlimited" portion of the event, and new builders are welcomed.
Honestly I'm just throwing an idea out. If it does seem like something people want to do, I'll even try to get a youtuber I know to curate the vehicles.)

@AtlasSP No worries, well if you ever want to get back in, it's always an open invitation.
@EchoWhiskey11 sorry I just got home from going to the hospital.
yeah I still make videos on my channel, just a bit lazy.
I think I've missed out on a lot of new things in the SP community lately, not sure if I'll ever get back.
Last update before I post the actual "challenge" for the upcoming virtual car show (and finish the graphics for the event itself). It'll be posted on Friday morning (ET)
@EchoWhiskey11 oh ok
@MrShenanigans2020 April 15 is what I'm thinking. I want to give people a chance to go all out, appreciate their fellow builders work, and enjoy automotive culture.
@EchoWhiskey11 hey uhm just a question whens the deadline since you said there are no limit to part count meaning some really good builders will have interior which could take a few days to make (depending on the amount of detail their going to add), also is a GT500 67 allowed for the event?
@SyntheticL No worries,"open' means this event will have no restrictions. I was thinking of having builds organized by classes based on part counts for a "Best in Class", but the main goal of this challenge is to bring the community together, inspire newer builders, and celebrate automotive culture. There may be a multiplayer part to it.

Wdym by Open car show? Is this something like these challenges or a multiplayer event?
Cool, then I'll probably put the post out today, and have it run into mid April so it doesn't over lap with @Mage2isTriggered GT Challenge. I still working on a race car right now anyways, but we'll have ourselves a virtual car meet. Thank you all for the input.
Ill definitely participate. As soon as i finish my current project, ill definetely make a cool car for this
Is a shelby GT500 1967 allowed in the event?
@EchoWhiskey11 Ok! I wish i had a computer to run multiplayer so i could bring my 488 but oh well. Cant wait to see if you do make a post! I have about 3 diffrent projects that could be added, most notably an 00' ferrari enzo fxx and chrysler jet car.
@AtlasSP, do you still do video post for Simple Planes on your channel?
@V As far as the racing aspect this first even is probably going to be more of a car meet. If it gets a good turnout, then we can probably do more racing events. For that it'll be FIA rules, horsepower, weight, and drag point restriction. I like the idea though, and once I get some input on this forum, I'll probably have an official challenge out in a few days. Once it gets going, all I can say is invite your friends, it'll be race day.
Finally, an excuse to record VR MP shenanigans, I just gotta practice mirage speedway in my GP-1 prototype
@PapaKernels eventually it's going to be a post, this is just to see if the community is up for a challenge like this, as well as take it new ideas.
@EchoWhiskey11 Mm ok. I can only build mobile friendly stuff so i was hoping it would work like that. Is it going to be in the form of a sp post or forum or something else?
@PapaKernels Mobile is definitely invited and encouraged. As far as multiplayer, still working on that part. This is going to be a completely open event so everyone can participate. If this event works out, then who knows, maybe virtual car meets.
Honestly sounds pretty fun! Would this be a multiplayer event or can mobile players join too?
I was thinking of a best in show, and best in class award. Classes being organized by things like truck versus car or parts count. And best in show being the entire car meet.
