Recently I've been experiencing a lot of really severe lag spikes where the game will stutter for about 5 seconds before allowing me to proceed, and it seems to get worse the longer I'm in the game. It starts out as incredibly infrequent if it's even present at all but after around 20 minutes it starts doing it every 20 seconds or so. My CPU isn't ever really over 20% even when running other programs in the background and I've heard a couple other people experiencing very large lag spikes like this too, so I have no idea what's causing it. It actually seems like my CPU percentage drops when a lag spike occurs. idk.
TL;DR: why the heck is my game lagging so bad for seemingly no reason

@AndrewGarrison everything is up to date but I am running quite a few mods. But from what I can tell the issue isn’t due to the mods. Even with the vanilla overload it does it, and with the text image part I used for the roundel on a recent project. Overall it doesn’t seem like a computer issue but I’m not sure. It’s sort of been a problem always but just with overload. Recently I’ve found it’s been spreading to other things but I’ve never used text images before so that might be why

Also worth noting that if you continue playing with the lag spikes for long enough, with time they will get more frequent, last for longer and the game will eventually crash, maybe because of not having enough memory.

for me, it happens when I'm building a plane with a performance cost that's over 850, but I'm using my tablet for it. It's a 5-second freeze for me. I don't know if it's related to this.
specifically happens when tabbing out of the game and back in after some time, altho only occasionally and not all the time

@HuskyDynamics01 I have noticed that happen since I’ve used overload, it’s quite annoying. I haven’t quite experienced a full 30 seconds of freezing but it definitely slows down if I’m trying to edit many elements in succession. It’s like it builds up a cache of all of the calculations and overload functions and as that fills up it slows the game down
I've been wondering about a similar issue, but with Overload. When making a bunch of changes to things, or changing - testing - changing, Overload's loading time becomes much slower. With the B-25J, I ended up waiting over 30 seconds for the Overload menu to even open, and then another 30 seconds to get to the parameter I actually wanted to change. Restarting the game seemed to fix it temporarily though. Could be a memory leak somewhere for sure.

@asteroidbook345 Memory leak can occur on the game itself and it can effect everyone, probably from poor ingame optimization
