Hello! I am new to building here, and I was wondering if there was a way to update my uploaded aircraft without having to reupload it?
Like, say, I forgot to add a code of FT to one of the control surfaces and now I want to fix that problem without...making a new post. Is that possible?
And, if it is, is it possible to update a published aircraft as a whole? Like, say, if I made a new livery for the aircraft or something, so now I want the post to lead to the updated aircraft without having to make a new post.
@temporaryplanetester oh okay, this is good to know! Thanks for answering, tho it looks like I'll stick to making new posts for now since...silver is very far lol
@Gryphus322 Yes
@SPAircraftOfficial Oh this I knew! I have already begun using this when uploading new versions of an older upload. Thankfully tho, there's a way without making a new upload but...
Silver ;-;
@temporaryplanetester Oh, darn, gotta be silver. This updates the XML, so does it allow updates to the aircraft physically as well? Like new panelling and stuff?
Another way: redirecting
How it works:
Step 1: upload an Update of the Aircraft you want to Update
Step 2: copy the plane ID(simpleplanes.com/a/ID)
Step 3: go to the old Aircraft
Step 4: open the drop-down-menu (where 'add to favorites' is located
Now you should see 'edit redirect'
Step 5: click on 'Edit redirect'
Step 6: now paste the ID you copied earlier in the box that appears there
this
Notes: You need to be silver (1001 points) or higher to do this, and you can only update the craft, not the screenshots or specifications, so the post may get removed if the updated craft becomes too different from the screenshots.
