Okay, I’m unsure what this is exactly, I’ve been working on a helicopter endlessly, something that usually only takes a couple weeks, not a month or more unless it’s really detailed.
I don’t technically like using the heli rotors in the game since they aren’t realistic enough so I build my own rotors (heli rotor tail or not). I’m stuck on this problem when I use wings and wing physics and use them as helicopter blades since fuselage parts are too heavy and shake a ton.
Whenever I fly, the blades tilt and after at least 2 to 3 seconds, the helicopter starts turning on its own to the left or sometimes the right uncontrollably.
I’ve been at this one problem for over a month now, this started happening probably a few years back give or take. I still can’t figure the uncontrollable turning to the left once I’m in the air.
Why do I want wing physics on? Well I can stay at a certain altitude and fly faster without having to make constant changes.
I looked at other helicopter builds like what I was doing but saw nothing wrong, I’ve tried everything I could possibly think of, so I decided to look at an old helicopter build I had posted that had wing physics on and flew nicely. I fly it, and I was astounded that the helicopter still was turning to the left uncontrollably. I’m wondering if this is some sort of update to the physics of the game and what not.
If anyone knows what this is, please help me and save what little sanity i have left. If you want me to tag you the aircraft I will gladly do so, the more help the better.
@IamSage hey, I think I figured out a way to bypass my problem, thank you though for your time.
@IamSage thanks for your time, go get that exam!
@Airheaddivision Okay, I'm taking this issue personally. It happened to me on one of my first builds, but immediately dissappeared. I'll help ya till we find the solution!
As much as I'd like to take a look, i'm not on simpleplanes rightnow. I've got exams on so, i deleted simplepanes temporarily. Tag me, I'll have a look as soon as possible!
However, make sure that the tail rotor is pushing the tail to the opposite side as to which the main rotor is spinning. Otherwise, try copying your helicopter and use the vanilla rotors to see if the problem persists on the copy. Aso make sure that you work with only one of the rotors on one copy. It will help point out the issue.
@IamSage it’s a UH-60 Blackhawk, four bladed, i’m using a vtol engine, i put four vtol nozzles on the tips of the blades, my main rotor and tail rotor are custom made, if you want to take a look at it I can tag you.
First off what kind of helicopter are you making? This problem can also occur with the normal helicopter blades... Let me know what kind of helicopter it is, i.e, if it is a pusher prop kinda heli, Double bladed kinda one are just simple heli with a tail rotor and a main rotor. Also, are you using any VTOL engines?
@Mage2IsTriggered thanks.
No idea or way to help but take this upvote so that maybe someone will see this
