BRITISH AIRWAYS 747-400 SPOTTED AT LAX!!!

19.7k WaffleCakes  7.0 years ago

Now a days you barely see 747-400's anymore. Most airlines retired them by now,but I managed to spot one British Airways at LAX. So today my family headed home from LA from vacation, and while I was waiting for my flight to arrive(which was delayed 30 minutes) I noticed a British Airways plane taxi by the terminal. At first,I thought it was an A380, but then I noticed there was a hump. I hurried to get my phone and I think I got a pretty good picture.

whoa

@MrSilverWolf but they were just introduced in 2011! And they use GENX engines!

@MrSilverWolf wait what airlines are retiring their -8's too? I thought that it was meant for a new generation of 747!

747s are the best. Love the spiral staircase.

@Strikefighter04 well long story short, they are older aircraft, first flight was in the early 60s I believe and it's not nearly as efficient to operate as a 787 or A350

The most known aircraft 747..... I can’t believe it’s going out. It made way for the new though.

@Strikefighter04 they can be really expensive and newer more cheap aircraft are being made.

They’re old. Designed in the 1960s not super effecient, expensive to maintain.@Strikefighter04
