Everyone here seems to be posting this simplelandia stuff, and I'm already this close to discontinuing my Continuum series forever.
Why?
- Well, true-to-life combat has much more kick, just as true-to-life planes here gain more attention that sci-fi ones.
- People pay more attention to what they can relate with in real life than what someone with a creative mind can make.
- Sci-fi stuff just can't compete with real-life stuff.
I have tons of content for my Continuum series, lore and build-wise, but it will never be as "cool" or "great" as a war series set on present days. Yeah people prefer the grittiness of let's say a WWII battle, but I'm one of those very few people who can't appreciate that. I would enjoy a battle between two starships much more than two enemy ground troops carrying M1s and fighting in trenches.
And Sci-Fi is a lot cooler and catches your eye and looks way cooler and when you creat something form your mind it’s crazy cool and fresh with replicas it’s always the same old thing and with creative things you just make up it it’s always diffent with every build@Ephwurd
I prefer post apocalyptic stuff like fallout or Sci-Fi stuff@Ephwurd
Amen mate amen @Ephwurd
I agree with you Ephwurd
And that's why we need the future to bring forth it's playing card now because at the rate everyone builds planes and ground vehicles, the only thing that is truly left to explore is the futuristic side without running into ships that others have already built @Ephwurd
@SpicyViper I totally agree with your point there. People have their own tastes, I mean i can totally understand when someone gets ecstatic over a replica of a bus. But seriously, a person's imagination can only go so far, why limit yourself on building things that already exist?
I do feel that Simpleplanes needs to start accepting sci fi technological builds because they seem to be neglected and I'm actually working on a 1:2 scale replica of a starship right now (I will not release the name of the starship until completion) because I want to help spark curiosity for more sci fi builds and get the Simpleplanes community into actually caring about a different era instead of WW1 to present day because the future needs a moment to shine for a few months and to actually get the word out that the future can't be hidden forever
@diegoavion84 that’s WW1 my guy not 2
@diegoavion84 exactly. There's just no thrill in that kind of combat
@JangoTheMango rule of cool with a dash of realism is my kind of thing. That's why ship designs from Fractured Space and Dreadnought are my favorites because they are both cool, and are realistic at the same time (they both use RCS to maneuver and not some pseudo-science tech).
@Treadmill103 I'm not excited for SR2 to be honest. I'd prefer Space Engineers even though it is a lot more complex.
@MrDoolittle that is very much true
It’s has to be extra special if it’s a fictional futuristic build as a lot of the users on this site are warbird biased
I just make everything
And I also want to start my own Sci fi series
I like boath
personally old wars are very boring and I prefer to see battles of two spaceships on Mars (as in COD IW) that thousands of soldiers dying of hunger in trenches with weapons that get stuck every two shots
i love both but i like real life with a twist of fiction (tojan war with a greek machinegunner) or just plain sci fi( those pesky rebels)
i love both but i like real life with a twist of fiction (tojan war with a greek machinegunner) or just plain sci fi( tpesky rebels
I like sci fi a lot. There’s a reason sci-fi movies and books are so popular. I, for one, would love to get my hands on a lightsaber.
I don't know, are they
nice....like your viewpoint..@Ephwurd i myself..44years old simply die over scifi batlles between starships ect.....noooottttthhhhiiiinnnngggg cooooooilllleeerrr than that!!!!!
@DarthAbhinav more like
not
There's a reason I hate Star Wars... and it's definitely NOT the battles.
Sci-fi: Better
@DarthAbhinav sci-fi without realism is a steaming pile though.
