My name is Aaron Perlupo and I am 16 years old.
Beginnings
I started playing SimplePlanes on Christmas day 2014 on my new Kindle Fire tablet (which later got destroyed). I was limited to basic blocks, the OG engines, and the OG landinggear. My tablet got destroyed.
Legitimate Beginnings
A year or so later, I got SimplePlanes on my PC, and decided to start making replica airliners. I also got an account named TheGuyWhoFliesToGetHisPie (I had a huge pie obsession back then). I uploaded my first 787, which you honestly do not want to see. I eventually hit bronze after a month or two, and then quickly got to gold. I then started my road to platinum.
Platinum/Peak
I hit platinum right before the first page got completely filled with them (the good ol' days!), and before SpiritusRaptor hit 100k. This was pretty much my peak, throwing out replicas every couple days, and continually making minor innovations.
My Downfall
TSAD came along, and blew everything anybody ever made out of the water. I continued building, and I was thinking and experimenting with different airfoil techniques. I started an ambitious 757 project which included airfoils and realistic flaps. I started losing motivation on the project from frustration at how the connections would have a mind of their own. I finally cancelled the project after SP lost a good amount of my save data for no reason.
I then started a 787 project, but that too got cancelled due to lack of motivation, and again it was an ambitious project anyways.
Finally, a year after my last replica (The E190), I finished a 737 MAX 8. I still wasn't satisfied (given a few weeks), solely because of the massive wing area, the wings were way too wide from top view.
I then decided to make an MD-11, just because I like the landing gear. Believe it or not, I started losing motivation on that too, which is why the quality is worse than on the 737 MAX. A few variants of that came out.
The recent 767 project has been on halt for a long time, again being too ambitious to make 3 models of the same aircraft, including a -300 and a
-400ER. I did not want to take the time to add the speed brakes (because at this point I was just trying to hang on to any motivation I had anyways). However, the models were never up to standard to be released, so I kept them private. They are still on my PC and I hope I someday get back to them, but I doubt that I ever will.
The End of ForeverPie
I lost motivation, I hate being on my computer and I only use it as a last resort when I have nothing else to do. I also lost motivation to make really anything in SimplePlanes, and I also have lack of ideas. I guess as it's said, "All good things must come to an end." I am dead in SimplePlanes, and I am obsolete.
The most painful thing will be leaving a game that I loved since 2014, and leaving the best online community to ever exist. I might stick around a little bit longer, but eventually I must go so I can lift the overwhelming weight of thinking that I need to stay.
I hope the best for this game, and I hope that I am the last major person to announce their quitting on SimplePlanes.
I honestly never thought I would make this post, I wanted to be the last one to quit the game in order too keep the community alive. That burden drove me away from the game.
You must not quit because I quit, there are builders better than me, join their bandwagon instead.
I may only be gone temporarily.
@enzoBoeing757 bruh

PieGuy: Pie is Forever
Well, goodbye and good luck.
The common patern i see is that, you guys made too many too quicly, thus loosing all inovation and motivation after a year or two. Farewell.
Hey I’m always like that and I usually take brakes as long as I want until I can get some kind of motivation to create or ideas @ForeverPie
2014-2018Pie. @IAmMyBoss
Flak.
@ForeverPie if you quit please don't delete your account
@IAmMyBoss I was afraid of more people quitting :(
I guess you can’t call yourself Forever Pie if you’re leaving.
But in all seriousness, I’ll miss you and your amazing builds, I have lost all motivation as well and will be quitting soon
It's a group that makes probably the best airliners on the site (I'm in that group as well) @Mattangi2
Hmmm... that's fine if you don't build anything. But honestly there's nothing you should feel sad about. Well, see you!
Whats tsad
Man. It hurts to see you go. Especially after playing this game for upwards of three years. Yes, three years. I’ll miss you.
@EternalDarkness @Squirrel Thank you for those great points.
@ForeverPie I'll be honest, it's pretty sad to see you go, but after reading your post, I think I understand why. It seems you tried to push yourself when you didn't want to be pushed. When one enters such a spiral, they are no longer playing the game to enjoy themselves, but rather they feel they have to prove something to themselves, which I'll be honest is the wrong reason to play the game... Or anything for that matter.
.
If part of you does want to continue with SimplePlanes, don't try and push out something for the sake of it. Do something different. Make a Tank, make a sub, supersize it, make it as overkill as possible, do anything, for the soul reason for because you can.
.
I be honest, I nearly fell into that habit of building for the sake of building, but caught myself before it got out of control. I stopped took a step back, stopped what I was working on, started a new series of aircraft (in doing so started the Aurora Project to spice things up a bit), I made Airships with massive drop down cannons and created 3 fighter jets, modified 2 bombers. And I'm still going. I have a massive backlog of aircraft that I'll probably never upload all of them, because I don't feel any pressure to.
.
What I'm trying to say is, look back at your builds, ask yourself which ones you enjoyed making regardless of whether others did. Hell, one of my favourite builds to make was a 50 part aircraft which I made to deliberately fly, takeoff and land badly, shortly followed by a flying biodegradable packing peanut. I'm not saying that building something ridiculous will reignite the flame, but I imagine you'll have a hidden niche that will.
.
Also, as @EternalDarkness rightly says, nobody is asking you to build. Just do it when you feel like it. If keeping motivation is an issue, then keep the project simple (don't go overboard with details and making fancy wings). Maybe go on multiplayer with some chill music for a bit and fly an old build for them nostalgia feels. I know I'd be happy (as usual) to do a mission or something that involves some form of formation flying.
.
Finally, this community isn't going to vanish anytime soon. Maybe you need a hiatus. Who knows... At this point I'm just throwing ideas around XD
.
But I'm no psychologist. I'm sure whatever you do will work out for the best.
Try,try,try
