Steam Users Beware!

57.1k bjac0  5.7 years ago

This is a message to all steam users, if someone(no matter what) tells you that they accidentally reported you for duped items, IGNORE THEM. They will try to act empathetic, its a copy paste message they send, if you need more evidence, their order of task goes as follows;

They initiate the scam by asking kindly if they can talk

Then they mention that they accidentally reported you for duped items or something along those lines

They will then try to send you over to a "steam customer support agent" (who is actually the middle man of the exchange)

The middle man will show you "evidence" that they are steam customer support, there are multiple spelling errors and flaws in their "evidence"

The middle man will also ask for your steam username.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR USERNAME OR PASSWORD

i am making this post cause 2 people have already tried this scam on me(and failed) and 1 has tried this scam on HackingAnonymous and succeeded(he got his account back). Spread the message to anyone you know on steam. If you want to speed up the process, copy and paste this to any friend on your friends list:

If anyone and i mean anyone tries messaging you about accidentally reporting you for duped items, ignore them, report them, call them out to their friends, and block them.
