The Ostpreußen Reich is excited to introduce everyone to their newest "MBT", pictured above and below.
While not tracked as found in traditional Main Battle Tanks, the new P.007c-128m serves the same purposes as any MBT with a significantly lighter weight, cheaper cost, and better ease of repair, while also keeping a near MBT level of crew survivability and possible damage to enemy vehicles.
The P.007c-128m, if already not obvious due to the designation, mounts a recently developed 128mm smoothbore cannon, the Rh-128. It's capable of firing shells similar to the German Rh-120 cannon; APDS, APFSDS, and HEATFS shells. Thanks to the slightly larger caliber of the gun, the projectiles have slightly higher impact power than the prior mentioned German gun.
The Rh-128 is mounted in a purpose-built turret thats surrounded in a variety of armor types ranging from composite layers to spaced segments.
Not to mention, the turret carries state-of-the-art optics to the left of the gun, as well as optics for the loader and gunner on the roof of the turret.
Behind the crew compartment in the turret is the ammo stowage, with automatic doors to keep crew and ammo seperate when firing. Additionally, a large blow-out panel is on the rear of the roof above the ammo in case the ammo begins to cook off.
The combination of armor and ammo stowage provides a significant amount of protection when compared to armored combat vehicles of other nations, while the manoeuvring and optics on the MBT provide the crew with higher combat awareness so they can outmaneuver enemy vehicles and attack from unexpected angles that negates the frontal armor.
Add on the preexisting chassis being amphibious (and having respectable amounts of composite and spaced armor), the P.007c-128m is well above versatile as a frontline combat vehicle.
As of the moment, the P.007c-128m is still in development, but there are no current plans to sell the vehicle to foreign countries until years down the line when a new MBT-type comes in and replaces the P.007c-128m.
Hence why is recieved the MBT title, despite being a suped-up APC
@exosuit
That would have a subpar capabilities compared to other "MBT"s
Technically, yes, maybe, but here in Ostpreußen it's an MBT.
Why? Probably the turret alone.
@ChiyomiAnzai
sush sush, or the Monarchs will see that too
But on a serious note, I'm quite aware that having wheels on a chassis revokes the vehicle's MBT privilege, but considering its large caliber rifle and respectable armor, it would be an insult not to call it such.
@ChiyomiAnzai
I'd be willing to offer[/sell] several of the older P.007a-50m or P.006a-30m APCs to supplement your Armored Vehicle Division, or possibly provide an advisor to help design a similar vehicle.
@HarryBen47
I think this is actually we need in the RFS atmorrd vehicule division
Ok
wonder if I could mount a 150mm to an APC, then slap an "MBT" sticker to it
@SuperSix
For an MBT this small. That’s what I meant.
Save for any tanks that mount 150mm guns, its one of the largest planned to be fielded on an MBT.
@SuperSix
Yeah that’s a big gun
Np @MrVaultech
Thanks
@Strikefighter04
While small, it does pack quite a punch at high speeds.
@SuperSix
Very good
That’s a tiny MBT
