For the swarming issue, I tent to make simple enemy aircraft with a low processing cost, so you can spawn a ton of them and it won't cause too much lag.
As for the lack of a gun reticle, this might offer a way to solve that issue(notice the third screenshot).
@Dracul0Anderson I do, the issue is three things;
-The P-39s in question are swarm variants, meaning that they can't be detected on radar, nor do they have a predictor (I know about the default-to-aggressive mode trick, Shiny taught me that, but it doesn't work on a plane with no missiles ;-;)
-The turret is camera aim, so the gun reticle is non-existent in any situation where I'd actually need it
-I'm actually pretty decent at unassisted aim on an iPad, but as the graphics and I will both warn you, this was not filmed on an iPad, I'm just nub at computer lol
Take a moment to realize it took me over 2 minutes to take out eight P-39s, because my aim is "incredible"
Also someone please yeet me for the poor editing but my software was laggy as heck lol

Why don't you have air-to-air mode on? That might be a big reason you're having trouble.

The only time I shot down multiple planes [also any plane] was my modded AV-40SI and that’s only because it has so many guns
