Yokosuka D4Y2 Model 12 "Suisei" [Fixed Version]
Thanks everyone ! My first featured plane ! :D
The D4Y2 is a single-engined carrier-based dive-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. And is operated by a crew of two in tandem enclosed cockpit. It was at his time, (41 to 44) the fastest dive-bomber in operation. The D4Y2 Comet Model 12 was faster than is predecessor and successor. Overall, it was a "superior" plane to the D4Y1 and D4Y3, but with more technically failures due to the Aichi AE1P Atsuta 32 engine.
I have choosen to build the Model 12 variant, because the majority of the quality blueprint and intel were for either the model 12 or the D4Y3 model 33.
And speaking of choices, i've deliberatly didn't added the extrernal fuel tanks, because they were blocking the air-brakes. I'll add them in the D4Y3 Model 33.
Current paint scheme : 131st Kokutai
Dark Green 2 (AS-21) and Light Grey (AS-2).
Allied reporting name : Judy
The D4Y2 Model 12 features are :
- Two fuselage-mounted 7.7 mm Type 97 machine-guns
(7 dmg, 400 shots each, 260 seconds of reload time w/ historical based data).
- Type 99 No.25 Model 1 250kg Navy Bomb
(250kg in-game).
- Detailed landing gear.
- Bomb-bay doors and interiors.
- Release mechanism.
- Bullet ejection system (synchronized)
- Tail-hook.
- Basic aiming scope.
- Position lights.
- Semi-realistic engine exhaust.
- Custom controls surfaces (w/ Flaps and Air-brakes).
- Two fuselage-mounted 7.7 mm Type 97 machine-guns
IMPORTANT
: Im well aware of the flaws, inaccuracy and mistakes on the flight model. And i was also "forced" to make practical choices against design and accuracy. I apology for theses matters, and i don't have the pretention to said that my plane is 100% historicaly accurate. That being said, i've put all my knowledge and expertise on this plane. Hope it will please the peoples who have supported me from the start (around 1.2 year from now).*

Ground spawn :
Set the flaps to 1st chevron (down), full throttle if you don't have to taxi out. It has a takeoff speed of 190 km/h, once you have been ascending, retract your flaps as early as you can.Mid-air spawn :
This is the important part. When you are spawning mid-air immediatly activate the engines to prevent the 2 smallers blades mechanisms of the type 99 to explode due to extrem overspeed. and then you are free to go.
In both cases, desactivate CG.8 after takeoff and activate it before landing.

@ZwillingerLuftfox46 That's more complicated than that. Did you see the mechanism of the opening / setup of the rear gunner position?
@Mainblocks no you're not. just have a wall blocking off the Gunner position from the rest of the cockpit. Or just have the gun go through the cockpit by disabling aircraft collisions for the rear cockpit
