Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IIa

12.1k logizAircrafts  5.7 years ago
Auto Credit Based on GhostHTX's Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXb

The early war Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IIa (7.7mm) was an air superiority fighter first fielded in 1940 for the Battle of Britain.

How I got to make this plane:
It's been a month since I started it, researching multiple camouflage patterns and ways to achieve them. I ended up using RamboJutter's way because his camo patterns are spot-on. I based myself on GhostHTX's Spitfire because, again, his models are very accurate.

From his model, I changed a few things, in their order of change:
- Added a zoom sight (AG3 to zoom in)
- Modified the flaps (AG1 to extend)
- Added W.E.P. with an actual compressor sound (AG2 to use)
- Smoothened out the tailplane
- Changed the wing guns, added convergence at 100 meters
- Changed the mirror
- Modified the landing gear
- Added a different rear gear yaw motion (Lock/Unlock with AG7)
- Modified the rudder
- Added a camo pattern based on RamboJutter's guide
- Tuned some things

I will later make some other variants, like the Royal Navy Seafire and the lend-lease Spitfires. You just need to ask down below. Enjoy!

@logizAircrafts Spitfires are classic you never can not go wrong with this plane ! Do not get bothered by the slight roll, it is a matter that is tantalizing many people on the site. somewhere there may be an extra bit of copy and it takes you weeks to find it. I think it's best to look for it with x-ray mod. Ηowever, in my opinion you have done a very good job, it could easily pass as a racing plane.
P.S) If you want to change more the sound of the engine, an idea is to add a small jet and the usual prop. Again congratulations, keep up the good work !

@Viper3000ad Oh boy, that was. Amazing. I'm glad someone spotted the issues recurring in the aircraft. Maybe I'll make an US Lend Lease version that has the fixes... What do you think?

@logizAircrafts From my mistake I started in the water and I noticed that it floats ! It is a little heavier than the original, so it naturally has less speed that is nevertheless perfect. The flaps work well and the locking of the rear wheel was very clever. However, it has a small turn to the left at takeoff as the original one. I did not notice if the prop was smaller but this way it takes off better. Perhaps because I have a slow PC I would like a smaller roll-rate. Very good work!

@Viper3000ad Thank you. Appreciated it. But how does it fly? Just wondering because a friend of mine tried to fly it and crashed fast. Maybe it's because of the low physics, as it has a special, hiding, engine that makes up the compressor unit. If you need a low physics version I can make it.

I gotta say, this is the best ptopeller plane ive ever flew in this game. Just saying this needs many more upvotes, like it really does not from me cuz i cant (i only have 15 points and i need 30 to upvote) but someone else can do it for me.
