Buccaneer S2B
The last British nuclear-capable bomber. This 12 SQN Buccaneer in haze grey livery is dedicated to my dear friend and ex-Flight Commander who is no longer with us - I hope you like it. Use VTOL to control all moving parts: AG1 deploys the airbrakes. I couldn't figure out how to make the clamshell doors open, so I embedded a pair in the fuselage. AG 2 and 3 open the nose cone and RX/RX equipment bay respectively. I know the composite nose cone was simply detached, but I couldn't resist mechanising it. Inside you'll find the Blue Parrot radar. AG 4 opens the rotating bomb bay and AG 5 lowers the arrestor gear. AG 6 turns on Nav/Position lights and the nose gear landing light. As a smart alec, I even included the fluid/pressure gauges located on the starboard forward fuselage, but lost all brownie points by not doing the folding wings. A slight niggle - she veers to port under initial takeoff acceleration, possibly due to the refuelling probe, but she flies nicely. Take her up for a spin, and any of you gurus out there are more than welcome to improve on it.

@MailboxIsMyGender Thanks bro!
@Mustang51 thanks man, she's one of my favourite planes too.
Great to see one of my favourite planes made so well!
@nuke778 thanks bro.
I love this plane RIP friend
@GhostHTX Much obliged, old boy. I have a nice little Italian surprise winging Simple Planes way shortly. Have a dekko when it's up, and let me know your thoughts.
Christ! Late the party as always. How I missed this I will never know.
Spiffing Buck, old bean. This is a really very, very nice model.
Np! @Alien
@Ihavenorealideawhatiamdoing
Thanks, really appreciate your comment!
Beautiful build!
Yes I did lol, then I will work on the flex @Alien
@KASA If you're talking about my build, I put nosewheel steering on roll input with 15° of arc. Were you trying to steer with yaw input?
@KASA yeah, the eccessive flex was my problem too, and when I nudged the wing in far enough so as not to flex, the actuator and rod came through the wing surface while the wing stayed put. Doh! It's probably just me.
Thanks! The problem is that the wings flex a lot when you pull up but I will look into it. I also made a Version with folding wings and a bit better handling and range but Simple planes won’t let me upload it so I have to wait a few hours. @Alien
I also tried nose wheel steering and it worked but it fucked up the gear retraction so a part of the gear would always stick out even if you retract the gear. Maybe I will xml mod it so it still works.
@KASA great job, man - and quick too.
@MEERKAT978 go for it! And thanks for the comment.
@ChiChiWerx mutual follower this end!
Here is it with folding wings: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/eD54r2/Buccaneer-S2B-folding-Wings @Alien
Depending on how exactly the wings go together @Alien, I might have a crack at it. I'll be discriminate if I try though: This bird is beautiful and I wouldn't want my heavy-handedness messing it up.
@Alien YW, a very good looking bird, for certain. Many advanced building techniques here, keep it up, you have a new follower!
@Ephwurd Thanks bro!
Nice build!
@ChiChiWerx Thanks for the input. Trying to get the design close compromised the handling, and I'm not up to speed with Simple Planes tweaks yet. I applied yours to my original build and managed to improve the CG. Thanks again.
@Razor3278 High praise indeed. Thanks man!
