[PEA] Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star
Part Efficient Aircrafts!
The Lockheed Skunkworks P-80 Shooting Star!
Not quite my Platnium Special, BUT SOON!
But I think you can call it the F-80...
So, the P-80 is incredibly simple. VTOL for flaps and Trim for trim is all you really need to know. I will say, both its speed and agility probably make this one of my most realistic PEAs yet. It was incredibly fun to build and fly though, so do expect more early Cold War PEAs in the near future (in fact, the F-86H and MiG-15 will be my next PEAs).
This P-80 doesn't come with fuel tanks, although I did make a version with one, and the detachers still exist on this one. So why no fuel tanks? Because they made the P-80 a pain to maneuver ;-;
(I'll choose to ignore that you can drop them)
I know what you're thinking; T-33 when? Soon.
Soon™
PEA Lore (it's long):
In the alternate PEAverse, the P-80 was actually finished in time to fight in World War II- sort of, at least. WWII lasted a few years longer in the PEAverse, so the P-80 would ultimately be able to see combat against the Me 262 and such.
This P-80, however, doesn't get to catch any breaks. After serving extensively in WWII, this P-80 alone scored a surprising 13 Me 262s, 4 He-280s, 3 Bf-109s, and one of each for the Fw-190 and Fw-200 (so one Fw-190 shot down and one Fw-200 shot down). And he wasn't even done there, as he often served as a live-fire trainer with F-86s, but somehow survived only to see combat in the Korean War. Again, he survived there too, but saw significantly less success against newer opponents, only seeing victories against a handful of older unconfirmed Soviet aircraft and 2 confirmed shoot downs on MiG-15s. He also intercepted several Soviet bombers, namely the Tu-2, Pe-8, Tu-4, and later in his career a few Tu-95s, but only one of these instances resulted in the bomber being engaged and shot down. And after all this, the P-80, now designated F-80, served as a trainer once again, but thankfully wasn't in live-fire situations anymore and thus survived to train planes in the Air Force and Navy.
Following all this, the PEA takeover had already happened, so he was able to escape scrapping with little to no difficulty, and the F-80 finally got to retire to nice museum and just relax.
Of course I'm kidding. Like I said, this F-80 just can't catch a break. The F-80's days as a trainer almost ended in the late 2010s, but by then, there were tensions of several wars going on, so he was upgraded in almost all aspects, now designated F-80N, and served to train even more modern fighters like the YF-23 and F-22. His training actually ended in late 2023, but unfortunately he still didn't get to rest. Due to his heavy upgrades, he was considered a powerful fighter and was swept up to fight in the Monarchii War. Again, he survived and got a few air-to-air kills, although most of his victories were against Monarchii tanks and ground vehicles. And after the Monarchii War, you guessed it, instant involvement with the Siren War. If history repeats itself, he'll survive this war too and get a literal moment of peace before seeing the battlefield once more.

@Trainzo Thanks :)
Great build .
@Hiiamhere Thanks! :D
Congrats on platinum bud!!!
@Majakalona True, but I mostly based it off of the OG Monarchii PEAs like the B-17G or Plopter (technically an LPA since the Plopter isn't real)
(I didn't make it)
@Majakalona it does lol
the canopy looks like @Intruder72 made it
I'm referring to how it looks like a slightly fogged mirror
@TheUltimatePlaneLover great!
@Karroc9522 YOOOOOOO I JUST REALIZED
@BadahhMuscleCar001
I think the challenge is already over BUT P-80 IN 80 PARTS LET'S GOOOOOOOO
@Karroc9522 PEAs might look simple at first but they're often complicated as heck lol
@IDK0 Thanks :D
There are more PEAs soon, but I might take a short break to work on my three Platinum Specials. Good news is, the only PEAs I have left to build (at least on the immediate/priority schedule) are the SEPECAT Jaguar and PB4Y Privateer (I've already finished the F-86H and MiG-15bis, they will release tomorrow)
@TheUltimatePlaneLover Platinum! Let’s go! Great job, continue pls!
Nice job. Love how cool it looks and simple but is more complicated than meets the eye. (yes I see those 80 freaking parts)
@TheUltimatePlaneLover no problem 😃
@LoganTheGameDev Thanks :D
