Po-2 is one of the most famous and effective Russian WW2 planes. Despite archaic appearence and very low tactical characteristics, this plane had several advantages, like very low minimal speed, long distance flights that the plane could accomplish with its engine turned off and a possibility to land almost anywhere. Cause of this Po-2 became very effective Night Bomber, post plane, artillery correction plane, surveilance aircraft, and even hospital plane. The most famous squadron that piloted Po-2 was 588 bomber squadron "Night Witches".
