In 2262 the Central Vortex command needed to increase the versatility of their heavy support fighter. Long bombing missions made the 301 series an excellent fighter for flights from Wright air base, but there was a need for carrier based missions as well.

Echo Advance Systems or EAS built a concept fighter to give the 301 the ability of VTOL as well as a tail Gunner to help the survavbility of the already proven airframe. The wings were given extra armor to protect from gun fire which was a common weapon used by enemy forces at the time. In addition the flying wing was given a compound geometric wing design and more power to support it's VTOL capabilities. In 2263 the first concept took flight over Avalance air station. The craft was painted with bright orange accent in case it had to be recovered.
