B-36 (25 parts challenge)
I forgot to paint the forward end of verti stab!
Have fun flying or shooting down this plane!
Six turning...
...six turning.
Hey, it's a bird!
It's a plane!
No! (Everyone screams in sync, causing audio crack)
It's a Nuke truck!
No wait- It's a Peacemaker!
My comment
Yup! Here's a 25-part, low poly replica of B-36 bomber. It may be low in resolution, but I still paid utmost attention to (kinda) make it accurate to the drawings I used as blueprints.
It even has more-or-less accurate to real life weight, dimensions, top speed, and number of wings and engines.
Comes with a big, I mean MASSIVE, HUMONGOUS, VAST, HUGE, CHONKY,
<Many more unnecessary adjectives later>
bomb. Don't drop it below 50,000 feet, cause it's a big bomb!
Building this and my other (possible) entry, RF-84, for this challenge has been a great practice for build optimization, and I think it's made me push my limit. Really enjoying it so far. Thanks to WinsWings for the challenge:)
I don't remember why I picked this plane, but these six engines made this pretty challenging (they took 12 parts from my allocated limit!). General shape was simple, but choosing which part to compromise was somewhat hard. Very happy that I could come up with sphere technique for nose and canopy. (turns out this wasn't the first B-36 to use this technique though, bummer! Haha)
Companion build, RF-84 (coming later hopefully)
Another favorite shot of mine, too bad it looked too similar to the main thumbnail image.
Aircraft history!... ?
B-36 was a type of aircraft that was designed to fly very high and carry and deliver a device to another country. It was used by the late SAC of the USAF.
The aircraft starred in a famous romantic comedy film by Stanley Kubrick called.. er... Doctor and His Strange Love for Bob Worrie...? No.. Strange Orange Jacket? Still ain't right. Oh I know! Full Metal Loli! Mm. Sounds about right.
For those who haven't seen the film, it's a romcom (again), and in it a Doctor named Peter falls in love with a person named Dewmez Dae and together they go on a picnic adventure to beautiful places such as a top secret war room, incredibly cold Soviet ICBN site, etc. and get involved in fun shenanigans. If I remember correctly.
Tiring jokes aside, if you are interested in the real B-36, you should check out this video by Mike Michat. You may enjoy it (and his other videos) even if you are already familiar with the plane(s). One of my favorite aviation related channels on YouTube.

FICON AI enemy project
(Coming whenever it's done, which could be half a year later. Who knows when)
I'm also working on a FICON bomber/fighter combo "replica" using a modified version of this aircraft with higher parts count.
I plan this to be a relatively low-part-count build that you can either spawn as a neutral/hostile enemy, or fly it yourself manually. Not sure how much effort I'll put in it to make it visually accurate, but nonetheless, I'm hoping this to be a fun enemy to dogfight, or maybe even protect (if the game's AI decide to work with you).
I'm trying to make it deploy fighter when under attack, and not until then (when spawned as neutral).

*I got plane's specs from wikipedia En/Ja.
Btw, anyone know how to fix this annoying shadow/reflection bug?
I've been told it's due to the steepness of the change in fuselage width (thanks C.), and I tried to mitigate that somewhat, but not much luck so far.

Hope u win the challenge :D
@beenz
Thanks, and thanks for the spotlight also:)
Here's me, just noticing that part of vertical stab is painted silver, though. Oops. lol
