"Rocketeer"

Depending on who's who, it will either be the last thing you see, or the last time you see your enemy.

Remember the F-104,

infamously nicknamed the "Missile with a man in it?" Well some aerospace engineer had the bright idea of taking it a step further, and making a literal missile in a man with it- with a few changes, of course, most of which limit self-destructivity (he jokingly said a kamikaze aircraft would've been harder make practical, but some conspiracies suggest he was being serious). Anyways, humor aside now, the R-3C is definitely not a plane to laugh at. As weird as it may look, it's actually quite the threat, with fair armor, great agility, and only a single minigun as opposed to the several auto-cannons and machine guns of other FSF planes, but the Rocketeer gifts you- or threatens you- with eight multipurpose missiles, four being intended for air-to-surface (teal) whilst the other four being intended for air-to-air combat (red). These missiles will wreak havoc on almost any target, especially the early FSF jets which are ill-equipped in the field of countermeasures, but most interestingly, they leave no trail, so be wary of a blinking light darting through the sky instead. As you might've guessed, it's imperative to utilize your missiles (the launchable ones not the plane, you are not the ammo this time son), but still use the gun if needed.

Trivia

-In terms of the timeline of FSF, the R-3C is one of the newest fighters as of Phase 2, being designed from 1956-1958, and entering service in 1959.
-The slogan for R-3C crews was "night time, prime time" due to the psychological effect the trailless missiles had on enemies. I mean, admit you'd be pretty scared if you saw a red blip just rushing toward you, and next thing you know your plane is on fire. If you know where I got that line from, you're a real one.
-Rumors claimed that the R-3C was painted white to make it camouflage with the environment of the Arctic Circle to attack Russian aircraft whilst being virtually invisible except on radar. In reality, it was painted white because the designer of the R-3C wanted it to be as missile-esque as possible while still being viable and efficient, so they settled on an all-white paint scheme.
-One Soviet pilot who found an abandoned R-3C mockingly called it the "Ballerina" due to its thin landing gear profile. He probably had some serious regrets about saying that later: in an attempt to bring it to the USSR, it tipped over and exploded on takeoff before any legitimate or useful evaluations could be made, but he miraculously survived thanks to the missiles, engine, and most of the fuel being on/in the rear of the plane, as opposed to the cockpit which is all the way at the front.
-The R-3C was the first Wave 2 aircraft to be revealed on camera via a forum teaser I made a while back. He's finally here.
