“Ah, I see the capitalists are developing a ‘jetliner’, how do you propose we catch up Ivan?”
“Make exact copy?”
“No, I like your thinking though. You’ll go far comrade!”
“How about we stick more seats in existing jet powered bomber?”
“I’ll drink to that!”
Hence I reconfigured my Tu-16 into a Tu-104 so the proletariat can traverse their workers paradise at speed (prior authorisation to travel being approved of course!) She’s a little slow at low level but I wanted realistic cruising speed at altitude without going stupidly fast. VTOL for flaps and that’s about all.... we don’t have working gadgets here comrade!

Thanks all much appreciated, I do like dabbling in the old soviet hardware and I’m glad you enjoyed this!

@Tang0five Just did some quick research, yup, those Russians have a different design philosophy than pretty much everyone else on cockpit layout. At least according to a page on Quora about a similar design on Il-76, the glass nose was built for navigation and map-reading.
Supposedly for navigation purposes. I like to think they retained the ‘bomb aimer’ position so they could be transitioned back into a military role should the motherland be threatened..... @ThomasRoderick
Идеально
Did the Russians just forgot to remove the glass nose of their bombers when converting them to jetliners? I mean the Tu-104 have a glass nose, the Tu-114 (based on the Tu-95 airframe) have a glass nose, and the Tu-116 also have a glass nose (also based on the Tu-95)...
@Tang0five Badgers, Bisons and Bears. Bloody hell, that sounds like a song from the Wizard of Oz...
By all means, I look forward to your input! @Trainzo
It has been quite a while but I’m glad to see you back again! I’m sure you’ve been close enough to a badger to count those rivet-heads on not too friendly circumstances! @Alien
Vhere are all the exposed rived-heads, comrade? I will have to dock marks for being unrealistic. Just kidding. Good job as always, you imperialist swine, you.
@Tang0five , Hello how are you ? I would like to ask you .
if I can change the flight of your beautiful Tupolev 104.
The construction is very well done, but for me, the
flight area is not respected. I'm waiting for your answer .
It is obvious that it will be published with your name as creator.
Use a site like imgur and copy the direct link of the image (.jpg etc) into the description like so

you need to remove all the spaces I’ve put in otherwise you wouldn’t be able to read it.
Good luck!
@Charlie2613
