Built by General Motor's EMD from 1954-1963, the GP9 (General Purpose 9, Geep) was a time changing moment in North American rail transportation. A total of 4.112 units performed the tasks hauling freight and passengers, while also being able to operate in railyards. The V16 two stroke diesel engine proved it's worthiness for sure, producing 1,750hp.
