RJ P-61X 6.4

Auto Credit Based on RamboJutter's RJ F-5 5.2

Introduction

Here we have a build i started in 2022... Based loosely on a P-61 fuselage I evolved (?) the aircraft design to follow suit with the push towards canard style designs that were becoming more prevailant towards the end of WW2.

The build took some time as i wasnt happy with the original engine/wheels arrangement so I completely rebuilt the engine pods (i used the front from my "not a sea fury" designs) and wheels / bays to make it more acceptable to me, this also lead to alterations to the wing, fuselage and pretty much everything else. Not quite as big a rebuild as one of my other upcoming builds but not a quick fix either.

Controls

AG1-2 = engine starts
AG3 = drop fuel tanks (these are fighter sized tanks hence looking small on this bigger build)

Features

o Sequenced undercarriage and doors
o Undercarriage bays
o suspension on undercarriage
o 4no cannon armament
o camo scheme based on real P-61 aircraft (I didnt want to go all black)
o artwork on side of build
o actual roundels, none of this label stuff

    @RamboJutter
.... and here I thought it's because a few weightless and zero-drag parts are a lot less performance hungry than a label showing the same roundel, but labels are a lot more suitable for complex images and fonts (e.g. noseart, or more complex roundels like the East German one) and usually don't mess up connection points nearly as much. But yeah, labels do have a hard time on any surface with changing curvatures.
    .
    ..
... also, IIRC Nagi/Planaria made a modified converter so the output isn't faded anymore, but I'd hate to think about the performance cost of a full-resolution image.....

@ThomasRoderick I prefer actual roundels as they are not faded imported images, they are much more customisable to match the shape of the build while maintaining decent colours but are labour intensive. Other people use the labels as they are presumably easier and less parts are involved. It might just be me though...

What are the pros and cons of labels and fuselage parts for roundels? Am currently trying to go into this whole "detailing" stuff so pointers are appreciated.
