PAC P5B Puffin -PNA Trainer Colors

25.2k JohnnyBoythePilot  7.1 years ago

The P5B in the PNA (Pavelanian Naval Aviation) 1940's carrier/naval training colors.

HOW TO PERFORM A "CARRIER" LANDING:
Drop flaps to full, press G to extend the landing gear, which also drops the tailhook, and keep prop pitch at max for max power. Keep your speed high on approa ach (between 110-90 MPH), don't fly too low, or too high, and right before touching down, reduce power, pull the stick aft all the way back, and at the same time press either AG-1, 2 or 3 to activate the drag chutes (as if you caught a wire in the trapping). If you landed safely, immediately discard the parachute by deactivating which ever parachute activation group you selected (either 1, 2 or 3.). Really hard to nail, but it's the closest I could get to simulating a real carrier trapping.
Enjoy!

G = Landing Gear/Tailhook
AG-1 = First Parachute set for carrier landings
AG-2 = Second Parachute set for carrier landings
AG-3 = Third Parachute set for carrier landings
AG-7 = Landing Lights
AG-8 = Nav, Beacon, Strobe Lights
VTOL Slider = Constant Speed Prop
Trim Slider = Flaps (Trim Slider Down for Extending Flaps, Vice Versa for retracting Flaps)

    Also, the P6 is already in development, and this time, it's going to be a fighter! Finally! Currently really early in development, but it's nimble and fast, will feature folding wings, again, a working tailhook, high detail, and a new feature, it will have working WEP! (War Emergency Power).

    Thanks! Pretty hard to nail on the USS Tiny, but a light-moderate headwind does help a bit.

    Thanks! One thing I love about this tailhook, is that when retracted, it actually stays glued to the fuselage, which I didn't expect it to do that.

    Also, seems like the tailhook doens't bend enough to allow the tailwheel to touch the ground and turn. To fix this, simply select the loose/floppy hinge at the middle of the tailhook, and set it's range to 60*.
