Background

The M1905 Herald is a fully automated 155mm gun howitzer mounted on a modified 8×8 chassis, succeeding the M220 Recurve. The crew and engine compartment is armoured and the cab is fitted with bullet and fragmentation resistant windows. The system consists of an ammunition resupply vehicle, a support vehicle, BONUS, Vulcano and the M982 Excalibur.

The system is manned by 4 people, has a maximum range of 30km with standard rounds, 40km with base-bleed, 60km with the Excalibur and a maximum fire rate of 8–9 rounds/min when firing in MRSI. Firing the Vulcano Precision-Guided munitions, it can achieve ranges of 75km+ with a ballistic extended range trajectory and 100km+ with a guided long range type.
