Custom tiger challenge entry "thalmann"
This is my entry to the custom tiger challenge. The "Thalmann" was stolen from the Wehrmacht by Communist partisans during a raid on an army base in early 1944. The partisans named it Thalmann after Ernst Thalmann (german communist party leader and enemy of the NAZI government.). The partisans hid the tank in the forest by day and raided infrastructure by night. They also raided any troops moving through the area only to disappear shortly after inflicting heavy casualties gaining a reputation as "the red ghost" from Nazi troops. They specifically targeted SS troops in raids as these were ther most loyal to the Nazi cause and were greater enemies to the partisans therfore the heads SS soldiers and especially officers were often found apon poles ontop of the tank. The luck of the crew finally ran out when Tiger II tanks were sent out to destroy them, when the crew learned this they decided to abandon and hide the tank in a marsh rather than let the Germans recapture it and use it again. The crew were captured a week later and then sent to a concentration camp. The crew attempted to escape but only two made it out alive. Only 20 year old Hienz Krause the loader of the tank survived until the end of the war. After the war he lived in the DDR. The names of the rest of the crew are still unknown. Rumours suggest that Hienz has devoted the rest of his life to find the tank so he may respect his fallen comrades who he has refused to name because of the great sadness it brings to his heart.

@user49989 yknow you can edit the description here on the website too, you don't have to write the whole thing during the upload. I usually write the description into a txt file before uploading and then after the upload is done I go to the website, click edit on the post and copy paste the pre-written description into it. Also pretty good job
