The Missile With a Man In It

The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is an American Interceptor/Air Superiority fighter created in 1954. I have attempted to recreate it in SimplePlanes after finding a tutorial by @BagelPlane explaining how to make one of these. I didn't follow that tutorial, but it was my inspiration as well as the place I got the blueprints. I decided I would rather make a cool plane that was interesting to fly as opposed to a painstaking, time consuming perfect replica. As this is the case, its looks aren't terribly accurate and its performance is very unfaithful. It's quite a predator though, with its four custom "Sidewinder" missiles. The real plane mostly just carried rocket pods because it was made before heat seeking missiles were a thing (the reason this thing doesn't have any flares). Because rocket pods are no fun and a pain to use, I added some multirole missiles. They can't take out big targets like aircraft carriers, but can easily destroy planes and surface targets such as cars or buildings. I've put in a (highly inaccurate) VR cockpit, it's highly recommended to fly in first person mode. The visibility in the cockpit isn't very good, but it gives a certain feel of adrenaline that is just plain cool. If you for some reason want more info, click here .

Controls:

• AG1 for drop tanks

• AG2 to jettison missiles

• mouse as joystick, flight stick or mobile controls are recommended for the smoothest flying experience

• 200 MPH is the maximum takeoff speed; exceeding that will likely result in injury or death.
