Auto Credit Based on tucan's BWB Challenge [ENDED]

im back, for something and im excited about it

This is my entry for @tucan's BWB challenge.

ok now the plon

FICTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Late 1944, WW2
Ivan : "So, here we have it. The german stealth dorito plane blueprint."
Vadim : "Very nice komrade, why yes, lets go home"

Hans, in the distance : NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN SCHEISSE THEY STOLE IT

The ITPS-DD (go translate "long range heavy cannon escort fighter" in google translate but i moved the "S" because ISTP sounds like a personality type) is a long-range escort fighter with a flying wing/BWB design with a night fighting capability, designed based on the German Horten Ho 229's stolen blueprint as a joint project between the Lavochkin, Mikoyan-Gurevich, and Yakovlev design bureau.

The Russians however, did not have any jet engines at the period so instead, they used two radial 18-cylinder M-82FM prop engines, each with maximum power output of 2000 hp. They also made the plane extremely wide, so it can carry enough fuel to go from Moscow to Berlin and back twice, i guess.

The plane is armed to the teeth with a 37mm Nudelman-Suranov NS-37 cannon with 30 rounds, two 23mm Volkov-Yartsev NS-23 cannons with 75 rounds/gun, two 20mm Berezin B-20 cannons with 120 rounds/gun, and two ShKAS MGs with 1200 rounds/gun. Now with somewhat accurate properties! The aircraft can also carry two FAB-250 bombs under each of the wing roots (not modeled bc i cant find specs of the FAB-250 online.) The aircraft is also equipped with an advanced radar (at its time) for nighttime escorts or interceptions.

(angry german pilot noises)
angry bf-109 noises

Sadly the plane was finished after the Germans surrendered, so it did not see much combat other than completely pwning remaining Japanese planes in the east before the Americans drop two hot steaming fat balls of explosive radioactive material on the Japanese, ending the war. (Or i can probably make a build series, like, "WW2 - Extended DLC edition" and extend the war until 1950 then build fictional crafts for the series.)

COCKPIT INSTRUMENTS

See pic for the instruments. You can fly this plane with no HUD (including radar! Enemy will be tracked by the cross in the display), credits to @vcharng for the instrument codes in one of their posts, and for @SenSkysh's turret code that i translated into my radar.

CONTROLS

Normal aircraft controls. Act. 6 and 7 for left and right engine switches, to get out of flatspins (aircraft collisions can and WILL put you in a flat spin.)

NOTES

  • Cockpit is slightly off-center to the right, watch your aim. Inertia only for the roll motion, because the aircraft is dependent on trim to stay level. When using trim, the rotator for the vertical inertia will wobble, hence it is removed.
  • Landing gear is VERY temperamental, it will make the plane turn either right/left during takeoff, starts at about 200 km/h.
  • Low propeller ground clearance, be careful when landing.
  • Glass cockpit is very fragile, not HP-modded. The parts that are HP-modded are props and the wing's front fuselage piece.
  • Max sustained speed is about 705 km/h TAS at 10000 m.
  • Idk if this counts as cheating but i nudged a huge scaled wing in the rear for the yaw control. I tried using airbrakes for the yaw but their scaling mechanics are wonky. The custom control surfaces move according to what i was planning though
  • I used the WW2 engine because it sounds better than the T1000 type IMO, so the fuel consumption is BS. I put the fuel (mostly) in unscaled wings so i thought it'd be realistic, although i solely based it on fuel weight of the Ho 229 so yeah
  • Because i included wing gun MGs in the build, for some reason the lead indicator for air to air cannons isnt there. Try leading the shots manually, the velocities of the weapons aren't so far different, or you can look them up in Wikipedia.
-Drag and mass is zeroed on the details and on other parts to make the weight somewhat realistic and heavy enough to be believable

Credit for some other users :
- @Uchanka for the Bf 109 used in the photo and generally my design technique inspiration for this one. Great planes fren :)
- @Waemoth for the Panthers and Jagdpanthers used in the 2nd thumbnail
- @232287168147825 and @belugasub for the Mountain Scenery Pack,
- @232287168147825 again for the Reshade settings, which i tweaked a bit

Many thanks for staying this long, and sorry for making you scroll so far lmao. And, updoots are appreciated.

but you probably should have just named all the cannons the same so they would fire at the same time

This is why most people can't enter challenges, because people like you go so try hard and make amazing looking builds! Nice.
