Ford Escort MKII RS1800 Rally
So I finally found the time and interest to build a creation completely from scratch again.
This here is a replica of a pretty famous rally legend from the '70s and '80s, the Ford Escort MKII RS1800 with it's rear wheel drive, 270 HP inline 4 engine, independent suspension with coil springs on the front and solid axle with coil springs in the rear. It competed with the much weaker Fiat Abarth 131 with it's 220 HP and independent suspension all around.
I tried to make it as realistic as possible without wasting too many parts. The body, cockpit and suspension are very detailed. The suspension matches the behaviour of the real thing as good as possible. Size, weight and power are realistic aswell. It doesn't come with functioning doors, hood, trunk or anything like that. I kept it simple.
It has lights, full set of working pedals, working steering wheel (which can be tilted), working RPM gauge/tachometer and that's it.
It feels at home on roads of any material and can also do some offroading. Dirt tracks and rural roads are preferable. Don't expect it to be a hillclimber, it doesn't have the torque for that. It's quite durable, but too high jumps or hard impacts will make it crash. It's the first car that I managed to bring all the way down from Rattlesnake Racetrack to Maywar City without breaking a piece.
Controls:
AG1 - Lights
AG2 - Turn Signal Left
AG3 - Turn Signal Right
AG4 - Reverse Lights
VTOL - Throttle
Trim - Steering Wheel Tilt
Roll - Steering
Enjoy the ride! :)

awesome!
@BRuthless Try to make that 037. That would be amazing!
I'm going to try to buld this in to a flying car
@AdrianFlyingAce Drifting? Yeah, rally cars are somewhat optimized for that. Atleast on loose terrain like mud, gravel or dirt roads.
You've completed me.
I guess I might next time ask you for help
@icolubrids Me too. Thinking about maybe doing a Lancia 037, but I fear Group B cars are too low for serious driving on terrain in SP.
i love rally cars
Excellent!
Amazing
@aircraftarsenal123 @Stampede @TakicraftCorporation @Spikerya @SkullsAndCrossbones @CWhat016 @WNP78 Thanks to all of you! I put a few sleepless nights into this to get it as close to perfect as possible and to get rid of some glitches.
And yes, I'm already thinking about a car I could do next. I've got some requests, but I'm not sure yet.
The one car I SO want to have... NOW I CAN YAAAAAY
It cannot be more detailed :D well done.
Wow, great build and detail! i think you truly did deserve being featured! But next, could you make a Rally Mitsubishi EVO Lancer?
Cool! Congrats on the feature!
573 parts in a very pretty arrangement.
It would be so cool if you did a rally Ford Focus RS or a Subie Rally
@CWhat016 Or weeks. :)
YEEESSSSS RALLY FOR DAAYYZZZZZZ
Very cool car 😁
@zap210 Thanks! :)
beautiful!
Oh... that again... the comment wasn't submitting and I spammed the submit button... @BRuthless
@BaconAircraft Thanks! :) For some reason I see four comments of you, three of them say nothing. :D
Amazing comrad!
