Cerberus Class Destroyer
A mobile-friendlier build.
Notes: Try hitting the fleet with the guns!
Commissioned in late 3207, the Cerberus Class destroyer is the second 3rd-generation warship to serve in the Continuum Navy. The Cerberus was primarily designed to complement its predecessor, the Diablo Class battlecruiser's hit-and-run stealth attacks with heavy close-quarters combat using its formidable defenses and extensive array of weaponry. The Cerberus's shields and armor are exceptional for a ship its size, in which its unshielded hull was built to withstand continuous bombardment from all manner of ordnance for far longer than any other similarly-sized warship and its shields able to withstand everything short of a high-yield impulse blast. The Cerberus also bolsters some state-of-the-art weaponry, which includes a burst-fire plasma boltgun for its primary weapon, which can fire a 10-round burst of agitated plasma bolts for maximized damage output, a set of secondary rail rockets, a prototype weapon that fires regular unguided rockets using an experimental electromagnetic hive launcher, and twin torpedo launchers capable of storing 12 anti-capital fusion torpedoes for taking down larger enemy warships. The Cerberus Class was deployed just a week after its predecessor entered service, and proved extremely effective in CQC and mid-range combat against the larger Tor capital warships.
