"Firewall" Air Dropped AT Mine

52.8k RocCrafter101  6.6 years ago

Background

The Firewall anti tank mine is an airdropped mine that drops at an altitude of a minimum of 5km. Parachute deploys right before the 5km altitude to slow it to the right velocity for ground penetration. Then drops it. These mines are dropped in large amounts, blanketing borders with an insane amount of firepower. Each mine has a variety of sensor systems such as magnetic field, optical, sound, and thermal signature. When a target is detected, the mine deploys a ATGM that targets the vehicle. The mines quick reaction time and stealthy nature allows it to strike forces faster than they can react. The missile launcher can be replaced with a machinegun that self destructs when ammo runs out.
Soldiers have called it by various poisonous flower names because of the way it looks. Some versions have been known to have been painted like flowers with fake leaves attached and dropped into fields.
The mine can be also be planted by ground forces using a towed drill system.
