Served in US Navy Pacific fleet, USS Bataan's air group mostly consist of fighter aircraft providing CAP for the fleet. Later after the war USS Bataan was moved to reserve then recommissioned again for Korean war until the end, decommissioned and scrapped in 1961.

Controls

Carrier controls
VTOL up/down: Throttle ship forward/backward
Yaw: Ship rudder
-Ag8: Lock ship rudder

Aircraft controls
Ag1-6: Arm aircraft guns & hardpoint attachment for respective aircraft

Tractor controls
Ag7: Tractor magnet
Trim up: Tractor lift up

Instruction manual

Take off
Take off speed is 130 kts just throttle as usual.
For the 1st plane, use parking brake (Button 8), wait the engine powered up then release brake.

Moving the ship forward will give some headwind, shorten distance needed to take off. Too slow, you're dead.

Autopilot
Use stabilizer (Button 6) then turn off the plane (Button 5). To level the flight altitude, set the speed to:
260 kts 45% throttle (empty loadout)
270 kts 50% throttle (bomb)
290 kts 58% throttle (skip bomb)
270 kts 50% throttle (torpedo)

You can assign CAP (Combat Air Patrol) by enabling stabilizer, throttle at 232 kts 82 % throttle (level flight) or above while holding yaw. and turn off the controls (Button 5).
The rudder will lock and the plane will fly in circle while you do other things.

The speed requirements tested on first plane only. May be inaccurate for other because drag difference behind.

Landing
Clear the flight deck. Use the tractor to move all the planes away or store it in hangar. Also lower the radio mast (Button 2).
Select "Arresting gear" in ground target weapons.
Approach the ship recommended at 150kts. Make sure the hook touch the deck.

If you're too fast, abort landing or you might flip. But if the damage not fatal, you can flip back with stabilizer (Button 6)

Rearming
Move tractor to underside of bomb storage between 2 bars. Turn on magnet (Ag7), lift up (VTOL up), grab the bomb then lift down.
Next call the elevator (Button 9/10)and drive to plane hardpoints underside. Turn on hardpoint magnets (Ag1-6) lift up and stick neatly to center.
Do the same for other side hardpoint.

This time rearming system has been fixed. Once attached, the payload will stick until detached.

Armaments

  • Bomb: Effective for ground target. Just drop it like usual but without reticle. Real skill here.
  • Skip bomb: It's like combination of conventional glide bombing & torpedo. Best to drop at target broadside.
  • Torpedo: You'll notice there's button behind torpedo on portside bomb rack. The button will arm that torpedo and the one on opposite side. Arm the torpedo first before drop.

Credits

  • Thanks to @PlaneFlightX for introducing extra ag with buttons.
  • Thanks to @BMilan help making the label HUD.
  • As usual, WoWS better bring back odd tier CV.
  • And every downloaders. If you like it upvote. If no wait for my next build.

Additional notes

  • Camera switching is little problematic. This is why i need this to happen.
  • To hide the black streaks on deck, go to settings turn shadows to medium or off.
  • Bombs sometimes failed to detonate especially with ocean mod. This is because the invisible glass casing (this is for sticking with magnet) break but not impacting the bomb inside. I tested that Ocean mod do change the behavior when parts collide with terrain.

Enjoy~

@Rob119WithA105mmHowitzer Use AND logic gate: (desired input) & (activation input). For example, Pitch & Activate1. This will disable Pitch unless Activate1 = true. Then other planes, change the activation input to other inputs like Activate2, Activate3, VTOL=1, etc.

Hey do you mind teaching me how to make the individual planes have there own controls like they do here?

@llDeadboyll 1st make sure both deck & wheel partCollision is true. 2nd, landing gear may sunk because plane weight is affected by total ship weight. So just increase the suspension strength but that might become too bouncy

Personally i prefer resizable wheel because it won't sunk and more sleek moving on deck. The cons are more part counts and easily swept (require auto locking magnet)

@Bogey which technique did you use for building the deck in a way, that the landing gear doesn't sink in? That's a problem I often face with my carriers.

@Coreisasussy I tend to build reference accurate and light CV happen to have better performance due to lesser part count & drag area but there aren't many light carrier IRL. Currently i have no plan building another carrier

When will you create more of this stuff cus it seems like it might be better than some of the carriers at a cost of performance, i could imagine if you do battleships, i feel like you need some attention from other ppl tbh

@Bogey oh okay I was thinking that you could just edit the F6Fs to look like F2Fs or F9Fs? Idk but okay

@Robomo119DerMustangKiller Well, installing aircraft is a lot of effort to edit every control group. Besides realism aspect panther is too advanced and f2f is pretty old for this cvl

Hey this might be to much to ask but could you make one with F9Fs or F2Fs instead of F6Fs please?

    Hey there!
I wanted to say, that your builds are amazing and i wanted to ask, if you culd make such controls for a modern carrier too?
