Wreck Exploration - HMHS Britannic
Project Wreck Exploration: HMHS Britannic
What is Project Wreck Exploration?
PWE is one of my "small" side projects I made when I felt burned out after building my bigger, primary projects. It aims to recreate some of history's most famous shipwrecks, packed with a nice decorative research vessel the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, and a Mir deep sea submersible for you to control.
The Wrecks are accurately recreated and are 1:1 size, some of them are even in a realistic depth (only the ones that lie in a depth of less than 300 meters)
This build was made in memory of all the men and women whose lives were lost during this terrible disaster. May they all rest in peace, and may never such event happen again.
WARNING!
To use this build, you have to create a custom water spawn, far from any of the vanilla islands:
This build has a massive 1.5 km x 1.5 km size base platform which would cause it to explode if you tried to spawn at the default water spawn.
History
HMHS (His Majesty's Hospital Ship) Britannic was the third and last in the line of Olympic-class ocean liners, and was launched in 1914. At the time of her completetion, she was the largest ship in the world. Before she would be completed as an ocean liner, WWI broke out and she and her sister the Olympic were requisitioned by the British Admiralty. Unlike Olympic which was used as a troop transport, Britannic was converted into a Hospital ship. She made five successful voyages on the Mediterranean to carry wounded back to Britain. However, in 1916, she departed on her sixth and last voyage. On the morning of the 21st of November, Britannic was passing through the Kea Channel, between the Island of Kea and the Island of Makronisos. At 08:12, she struck a naval mine, and the resulting explosion made a massive hole on the starboard side of the hull, close to the bow. The evacuation from the ship immediately began and thanks to the much bigger number of and better safety equpiment, only 30 lives were lost from the 1065 people who were on board at the time of the sinking. Nearby ships, including British warships immediately came to the rescue, pulling out everyone from the water.
Britannic's wreck lies at a depth of 122 meters and as such, she can be visited with scuba diving equipment and a submerisble is not needed unlike with the wreck of her sister.
The Wreck was discovered in 1975 by Jacques Cousteau. Based on his observations, Cousteau believed she might have been sunk by a torpedo.
Britannic's wreck lies on her starboard side with the bow being almost completely detached. This happened because when she sunk, her bow hit the seabed before the entire ship went under, causing enormous stress on the already weakened structure of the hull's forward sections. However, the rest of the wreck is a very good condition.
Now about my build
Base Platform Size: 1096.9 m x 1096.9 m
Actual Part Count: 534
Depth: 127 meters
This builds features an accurate, 1:1 replica of the Britannic's wreck and the debris field around it. It also features the replica of the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, a Russian research vessel a Mir submersible. Two of these submerisbles exist, the Mir-1 and Mir-2, both of them operate from the Keldysh in real life.
You can control the Mir sub to move around while the rest of the build is all stationary.
The wreck is located roughly below the Keldysh and almost next to the starting point of the submersible.
Controls:
- Pitch - Sub ascend-descend
- Roll - Sub yaw
- Throttle - Sub forward propulsion
- Thorttle + AG6 - Sub reverse propulsion (reverts the propulsion of Throttle. If you had 70% propulsion before activating AG6, after activating it, the propeller will produce -70% propulsion)
- AG7 - Lights

As always, I hope you like this build!

CAN YOU MAKE JUST THE SUBMERSIBLE PLS
When the non-wreck britannic coming?
@BMilan Oooohhh ok
@Feve @RishantYT747fan The real life wreck lies about 3 kilometers away from the island of Kea
@Feve Yes but Britannic didn't sink too near or too far from Kea , so it's a bit correct
"You need to be very far away from island" But Britannic sink near an island?
Hey man can you do me a favor can I have a link to just the Britannic shipwreck nothing else thanks
@BMilan ok, i guess I won’t restore it.
@sharkysSPacc I don't plan on making such version of this build (at least as of now, it might change in the future but I don't promise it)
You are free to modify my build as long as you give credit to me in the decription of your post. ;)
Sorry for the spam, could you possibly make a version with just the wreck?
Can i restore it?
What if i used this and restored
What if i used this and restored
@WiniMii yep you guys too
@Dathcha also Android users
Would be nice if underwater camera was added to the game so iOS users should use this
