For the World War One challenge....
The RAF Sopwith Triplane S was a scout version of the Fighter Sopwith Triplane. A single-seat plane with no weapons, made for reconnaissance and scouting out bombing targets.
It featured an exceptionally large engine for its speed, and was on the heavier side, but was no doubt useful for England during mid World War One. They stopped manufacturing it rather early on since its introduction, and not many were made. Today, only five are left in the world, two of which are still flying.
Top speed: 170 - 180 KPH
