Working Catamaran

Auto Credit Based on SpiritusRaptor's Experiments with Breaking Wind

Best wind loading is 25 mph.
Tested to 55 (which was too strong), and anything above is a complete wipe-out.

Sails both into the wind and down wind.

- VTOL to move the sail,
- Roll for the tiller,
-TRIM also adjusts the tiller.
- For more realistic sailing AG 8 will deactivate the gyro (you will tip over if not careful).

Notes:
- It helps if you know how to sail to sail this (fairly similar).
- The closer the sail to the centre line the faster you will go.
- Try at around 45 degrees to the wind, either up or down wind.
- Use the orientation of the sail to align with the wind direction (not the direction of the cat).

Enjoy
SR

Interestingly enough you go faster upwind than downwind, i do know that this sailplan is better at sailing upwind but jeez, 40kn upwind is..., its so quick

Hi! So I’ve spent quite a lot of time working on a foiling version of this it’s now almost ready to post but figured I needed you permission first. I can tag you on the almost finished unlisted version so you can see the changes if you would like :) @SpiritusRaptor

Pretty good realistic design, but on the other hand is a game crashing machine it crashes the game every time it flips.

@SpiritusRaptor Hey, I'm pretty sure that the collab we talked about has been forgotten about. Are you still as enthusiastic about trying one as you were a month and a half ago? XD

Hello, SpiritusRator, I have a question. Do you think this (https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/Kx3y4F/F-A-18-Super-Hornet) is to long? I cannot tell.

@SpiritusRaptor let's start with something simple. An aerodynamic and lightweight fighter fuselage would be a good start.

@SpiritusRaptor so, which of us do you think should start the collab?

Try having the cat at 90 degrees to the wind, and sail at 45 degrees from the centerline . Then move the sail closer to centreline and aee what happens... @villulennuk
