Controls:
• Activate 1 – Deploys wings, activates balance gyro and VTOL engines.
• Activate 1 + Activate 2 + roughly 55% Throttle – Activates flight/hover mode.
• Activate 3 – Fast travel mode (reduced controllability).
• Deactivate 1 + Activate 2 + Forward Pitch – Dive Mode (minimum recovery altitude 3000ft). Suggest hitting Activate 1 and Pitch Back to break, then pitch forward after 2 seconds to regain altitude quickly.
• Activate 4 – Activate missiles.
• Activate 5 – Activates Hellfire.
• Pitch Forward – Moves head and tail. Accelerates forward when in flight mode.
• Pitch Forward – Moves head and tail. Acts as brake when in flight mode.
• Roll - Pitch Forward – Moves head and tail. Turns it left and right when in flight mode.
• Yaw – Oscillation stabilisation (optional, for when it starts swaying left and right after a turn). Can also be used for smooth unanimated turns.
• Spacebar – Opens jaw and breaths hellfire (when activator 5 is active).
• V – Chaff and/or Flares (if activate 3 is active).
Disclaimer: Controls are a little bit clunky and may take some time to get used to. Joystick controls are recommended for best flight experience.
Background
Bit of a backstory. This has its origins way back in late 2018 back when fly-ins were a thing. This was taken at avalanche at one of the first multiplayer fly-ins:
I was going to upload this, but I thought I could do better (might upload the original if enough people are interested). So I started work on on a more detailed and menacing looking one. Originally it was called the AI Dragon (Apocalypse Class), it was intended to be bigger, but SP physics happened and it ended up being a fraction of the size:
Construction of the original head.
Anyway, the main construction was completed (by completed, I mean 80% done), unfortunately, it handled terribly by comparison to the "old version", so I put it on the back-burner for a few months. Then the Halloween challenge came up and I thought "I think I have just the thing for this". So I spent a about 5-6 nights over the last couple of weeks tweaking the flight controls to the point where I thought they were comparable to the old model. Hence the lack of "Engine Types" posts.
Also, the designer pictures are misleading. The legs adjust automatically when spawned into the game:

fainted
Why must you make such detailed and incredible things?
@Squirrel So that why. Cool!
@ThomasRoderick It's a reference to the flare pattern from an A/C130. When the pop flares they come out in a pattern which looks like the wings/body of an angel. This pattern is sometimes referred to as angel flares or angel of death. When you use the brakes on this build (pitch back) the formation of the dragon resembles that of the 130s flare pattern. This coupled with the sinister undertones of the build led me to call it the Angel of Death.
.
It's an AI mech with one purpose and to those that would hypothetically be on the receiving end of this, it could very well be the last thing they see. A distant winged silhouette in the sky, an angel maybe? Then it's lights out.
Nice build... But which part of this is angelic? I mean dragons are cool, but they are no angels.
The movements are amazing
@BoganBoganTheMan Unfortunately/fortunately (depending on how you look at it) it's not. Pretty sure that song is about the horrible things Nazis did in WW2.
is this a Slayer reference
@Tully2001 that's worryingly specific. Is there something you'd like to share with us, Tully?
@Zanedavid yeah, I know. Don't worry, when spawned in game the legs adjust to what's pictured at the bottom of the description.
Lol the first image looks menacing, then all I see in build screen: peglegs
EternalDarkness irl
@Tully2001 If your d̶r̶a̶g̶o̶n̶ dog has babies, can I have one?
