AR-15
The AR-15. Gun enthusiats love it. Soldiers swear by it. Politicians hate it. Whatever you think, it's here to stay. The first of the black rifles, it was revolutionary in design. While the use of an intermediate cartridge was not new, the use of a small caliber, high-velocity round was in its own right revolutionary. It had all the power of larger cartridges, but none of the recoil. Where other guns were hewn from wood and steel, the AR-15 was made of advanced aircraft aluminum alloys and polymers, making it incredibly lightweight. The result? A lightweight rifle capable of accurate, controlled automatic fire which can penetrate a steel helmet at 600 meters.
While it was not without critics or faults, it would serve the armed forces of 80 nations, including the United States, as the M16 or M4. In the civilian world, the AR-15 soon found popularity for its accuracy, low recoil, striking power, and modularity. Converting a short-barreled carbine into a long-barreled marksman's rifle can be accoplished in less than 2 minutes, and without any specialized tools or skills.
However, its menacing black exterior, wide acceptance as a military rifle, criminal use, and prolific use by mass shooters have made it an enemy to politicians, who found an increasing number of supporters who live in fear for themselves and their children. Other politicians found considerable support by those who cherish the AR-15 and other firearms, and don't want to lose access to such a fantastic rifle because of the irresponsible actions of a few.
Despite over 50 years of military service, some see the AR-15, and its 5.56mm ammunition, as weak and ineffective. Many believe that a small bullet, no matter the velocity, will not stop the most determined opponents. They believe that only a large bullet can stop them. But while the AR-15 and it's small calibers may not be desired, it's bigger brother, the AR-10, can still be found. In fact, the AR-15 is a scaled-down AR-10.
A rifle by many names, and many opinions. Companion. Mattel rifle. Sportsman. Murder machine. Whatever you think, the rifle is here to stay.

Lol
@Dllama4 My real AR-15 is nonexistent because I have other priorities.
My real AR-15 has a Mega billet upper and lower, Mega handguard, V7 weapon systems billet aluminum dust cover door, Mega 16" barrel, Surefire Procomp 5.56, Magpul CTR stock, Magpul MIAD grip, and everything is pretty much standard mil-spec stuff.
Optics include a Burris AR 5.56 scope on a PEPR mount with a Fastfire III on top of the PEPR.
Hey it looks like mine!
Love it, you should've included Magpul attachments and a betamag drum
Ah, That carry handle looks so distinctive and nice.
@YuukaNeko Yes, that is a scope mount atop a fixed carry handle. Those are 10-round and 5-round magazines.
