[CLOSED] Weapon Design Challenge II
So it has been about a Year or so since I've started a challenge and I can say it has been well received. Now I'm starting another challenge and I'm going to step up the prize.
FIRST Place:
30 upvotes = 450 points
SECOND Place:
20 upvotes = 300 points
THIRD Place:
10 upvotes = 150 points
ALL Entries:
1 upvote = 15 points
The previous challenge rules were a bit informal so I'm revising it for the better.
RULES:
- It must be a successor of this post
- Weapons must be intended to be used as a sub-assembly. (specify main attachment point)
- Weapons must be in a 1:1 scale (must be mountable on a relatively scaled aircraft or vehicle)
- Instead of a 100 part count limit, I'll maximize it to 300 parts to increase detail.
- You may use all types of weapon (bombs, guns, missiles, torpedoes, rockets, countermeasaures and cannons)
- No external mods which requires to download the mod.
- XML modding is allowed. (And it will be a fair match since all platforms are capable of modding)
- Replicas will now be allowed but will serve a different scoring.
- Instead of entering as many weapons as you like I will now accept only 1 entry to prevent spamming and effortless works. And I mean 1 and not a set.
- Passing of late entries will be disqualified.
Failure to comply with the rules will get a 5% deduction
Last year's criteria were a bit confusing so I'm adding a few more details.
CRITERIA:
Design 50%
-Design must be inline with functionality(ex. A flamethrower must have a fuel cannister or a working scope for a sniper)
-Make it as realistic as possible, make moving parts such as triggers or gauges to express the weapon's function.
-Maximize details since part count is now set to 300.
-I would also look for the originality of the design and how it is different from other builds.
-For replicas, I would look for accuracy so please provide a source material for comparison.
Functionality 40%
-Weapons must work as intended based on description
-I usually test stuff in low physics so you might test it out too. If your build does not function well in lower physics please specify recommended settings.
-I would like to see something unique so suprise me.
Description 10%
I will be mainly checking the following:
-Instructions: steps in how to use it (be detailed in providing instructions)
-Features: What does the weapon do (provide in-game pictures)
-Story: A background of the weapon (Optional)
For a total of 100%
INSTRUCTIONS:
Some tips before you start...
- To start building drag and remove the large black block. There you will be left with a single cockpit.
- Once you finished building, state the main attachment point so I can easily save it as a sub assembly. (Tip: you may want to detach the weapon to the cockpit so it can be easily selected)
- Have fun in building :)
Deadline:
April 10
All entries will be tested as soon as possible until the deadline and will be featured in a ranking system.
