DMRI “Phalanx” Mk IX

15.1k Rodrigo110  7.2 years ago

Important note - Only use on High Physics

The DMRI “Phalanx” Mk IX was developed in 2049 following the end of nuclear war. Almost all petrolium stores had been destroyed, and jet engines; consuming too much fuel, were phased out. Instead, militaries around the world started reinventing propeller engines, tuning them to incredible efficiency and power. The “Phalanx” was an aircraft of this post-nuclear war era, sporting twin 2000HP “Rolls Royce Cyclone” engines, and a powerful 50,550lbf internal supercharger (used for horizontal flight). It was designed for defense purposes, and specialised in defending and fighting while hovering and pivoting, unleashing its vast arsenal of weaponry. The “Phalanx” carried eight Air to Ground missiles, four Air to Air missiles, 14 2.75mm Rockets, twin 20mm M134 “Miniguns” and a powerful 55mm O78 “Vickers” Cannon, which also made it suitable for attack as well as defence purposes.

(Mouse as joystick recommended)

Controls

  • Pitch for Vertical Axis Rotation
  • Roll for Horizontal Axis Rotation
  • Trim for internal engine (used for forward flight)
  • AG 1 (VTOL up) for rocket pod bay
  • AG 2 (VTOL up) for missile bay
  • AG 8 for navigation lights

Control Notes

  • Takeoff engine power is 74%
  • Hover at 72%
  • For cruising speed, engage throttle at 78% and power internal engine (Trim) to 50%
  • For full speed, engage throttle at 91%, and power internal engine (Trim) to 100%
  • Turning at high speeds may be hard, adopt preliminary turning techniques if over 150mph (241km/h)
  • Only use on High Physics; using on low physics results in glitches involving the paintjob and performance
  • Use 50mm O78 “Vickers” Cannon optimally at medium to long range; using at short range may result in the round not detonating

@Rodrigo110 Do I think that the insignia on that aircraft belong to HAF? Are you Greek?

It was just designed from start just as a VTOL aircraft, I wasn’t really thinking about helicopters... @PhantomBladeCorp
