No.298 Heavy Cruiser 'Nikko'
Captain Ramius: Your conclusions were all wrong, Ryan…Halsey acted stupidly.

There is a fictional design from my novel, and a lot of new plans and devices assemblied. The namesake is the famous mountains of Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture, as the final rest place of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu and where World Heritage Site of Temples Of Nikko locates.
In the novel which I’m still writing, Nikko was an aviation heavy cruiser of the Navy of Mizuho Empire (Ashihara Nakatsu Teikoku Kaigun) . She was mainly designed by assistant engineer of Naval Technical Department (Kaigun Kansei-cho) Matsudaira Hironobu. Her construction was begun around early 1942, launched at June 1943 and finished at July 1944. She performed well in the battle of cape Engaño and later battle of cape Catanduanes under command of captain Katakura Harumi and lieutenant commander Uekawa Ayuki, which she got her first, second and third kill against TF38.2 and even heavily damaged their flagship New Jersey. Then she join the battle of Kita-go, ran the blockades and transported emergency supplies to homeland, which put Halsey to shame again. She was later stationed at harbor of Kure because of the shortage of fuel, and was concentrated and sunk by Halsey’s forces during July 1945’s air raid on Kure while her officers were summoned to audience by the emperor. Thanks for its well protected design, most of men onboard survived.
20cm/55 3 year type No.3 naval gun with semi-auto loading system fitted in new triple turrets, and 2 set of contra-rotating propellers. In the novel's characteristics it have a maximum installed power of 180,000hp and could reach 40kt, main artillery have a max fire rate of 7-9 round per minute for a single barrel.
Here is the characteristics of Nikko in the story:
Length/width/draught: 223m/22.2m/7.7m
Displacement standard/full load: 16,200tons/19,500tons
Installed power: 180,000hp
Maximum speed: 40.5kt
Cruise speed: 18kt
Range: 7500 n-miles
Armament: 3x3 semi-auto-loading 20.3cm/55 3rd year type No.3 naval guns,
9x2 10cm/65 type 98 Anti-aircraft cannons, 3 sets in turrets and 6 sets in shield carriages
22x3 2.5cm type 96 Anti-aircraft machine guns, most of them fitted with shields, and some of them were later replaced with 28 rounds 12cm rocket launchers(the 'Funshinhou')
4x4 61cm type 93 torpedo launchers, only aft 2 sets have ammo storage of 8 torpedoes each under flight deck. The fore launchers have no storage because of the armor scheme.
Armor: Side 140mm+32mm 16°/Top 85mm 90°/
Conning Tower 160mm 0°/Flight deck 38mm 90°/
Main Turret Shield 200mm/Barbette 200mm/top 80mm
Secondary Turret Shield 51mm/Barbette 51mm
Machine Gun Shield 13mm
Fuel Storage: 2,800tons
Complements about 900-1,000
Radars and Sensors: Type 22-go Air Search Radar x1(on the top of main mast)
Type 42-go Anti-air fire control radar x2(on the top of rangefinders)
Type 13-go Early warning radar x4(on the side of angled mast and conning tower)
Type 22-go Surface search radar x3(in front of conning tower and side of aft bridge)
Aviation facilities: 2 Catapults, 12-14 float planes(max to 18)
8 - switch on/off targeting system and ship roll control, also trigger the blinkers. the targeting system itself triggered by landing gear while group 8 was activated.
1 - 20cm/55 3rd year type No.3 Naval Guns (Main Batteries), controlled by targeting system, fire by key to fire weapon
2 - 10cm/65 type 98 AA/AG Naval Guns (Secondary Batteries), controlled by targeting system, fire by key to fire guns
3 - 12cm Rocket Launcher, controlled by targeting system, fire by key to fire weapon
4 - portside torpedoes, controlled by targeting system, fire by key to fire weapon
5 - starboard torpedoes, controlled by targeting system, fire by key to fire weapon
6 - launch portside observation aircraft, VTOL to adjust throttle and brake while pitch/roll to pitch and roll, trim to deploy flap and side float
7 - launch starboard observation aircraft, same input control to portside aircraft
Landing Gear - low/rise aircraft hangar elevator, and if group 8 was activated it will also trigger the fire control system
Anti-air machine guns (25mm Type 96 Anti-Aircraft Gun) were always fireable and also controlled by targeting system.
WARNING : ROCKET LAUNCHER MAY CAUSE MAJOR EXPLODE IF FIRES AT WRONG DIRECTION
Turret Mod required, if needed i will release a pure version. it may takes time.
Initially set to direct-fire mode. Change to indirect-fire mode (use observe aircraft to set target) by setting the target laser, it located on the fore rangefinder.
Change it to mouse pointing if in-direct fire mode was needed.
3 decoration backup aircraft added which 2 of them in the hangar in front of elevator. Overparts so i give up to add more backup aircrafts, although in the original design there could be up to 7 backup ready-to-use and another 4 as spare parts.
at least the current status works well on my device, even could described as "fluent" as more than 40fps.

Do you think you could add a separate build for the fighters please.
I mean yeah, @JA311M
@Zanedavid ships are far more larger than aircraft, and so many weapons which each set have many parts. if detailed ships will have even more part counts.
Gg tho nice work
Can anyone explain to me why ships have the biggest part counts? I get details but still
@ThomasRoderick the fore bridge looks like aoba's more i think. it's a larger one. as the aft bridge, there is no one like that in the entire imperial navy. maybe kirov the missile cruiser. besides, fore mast is typical japanese cruiser style.
@JA311M So... the turret arrangement of the Mogami, superstructure (sans the bridge) of the Oyodo, and the mainmast of the Yamato...
Anyone want to read the story? I only got chinese and japanese version right now -.-
If needed i could make at least the plot translated.
@ThomasRoderick easy to wrong identified as ooyodo/mogami/yamato, in the story Halsey's men indeed made this mistake
@ThomasRoderick in fact mogami and yamato have same layout, and this is between yamato and smaller ooyodo
@ThomasRoderick truly developed from mogami but larger and have totally different superstructures. this is something able to compare with des moines
Sooo.... Basically speaking, the Mogami-class with a different rear deck and larger turrets?
@JA311M o do know how bad ship turn in SP which why most of my ships have large rudder but then it still not working as i want to, i have my VTOL nozzle attached to the rudder so as the rudder turns the thrust is applied to the side you want to turn, and i can prove ships have propeller in this game, you simply make them, i mean yeah i know this is just a fictional ship but i always like "realistic" ships specs such as maybe its a treaty cruiser, no more above 10.000T, no guns bigger than 9 inch, and maximum for battleship is 35.000T, i love that sort of somewhat realistic design like what if this ship was made in real life, so just take my critics with a bit of salt as i know the game limitation can't make you do certain stuff that you want it to be
@TrislandianAlliance that characteristics is from my novel, not this model in simple planes. in this game the underwater rudder have less effect and all the yaw control rely on vectoring nozzles. even so the turning effect is very poor
@TrislandianAlliance if your ship is small-scale model the propeller maybe useful. i suggest you to use vtol engine that a vectoring nozzle would also provide yaw control.
@TrislandianAlliance nope. the real-size water vehicles cannot use propellers because they have large draught, which would make propellers totally in water. there is no water-propulsion in the game so only jet engine could provide thrust even for ships.
And do you think connecting a turboshaft into a Double Geared system to drive the propeller is a good idea?
@JA311M Ah, i see, that is a good idea, one of my ships (not uploaded by me but i make it) can get to 36kn with an oversized propeller, cavitation is the scary thing that "our" engineer wanna see because it has happened (realistically), the speed can sometimes dropped to 35-34kn which is weird, if you wanna know about it check a guy named @SimpleBoii, he's the one that helped me to upload it when im unable to upload...
@TrislandianAlliance although her installed power is only 180khp, she have 2 set of contra-rotating propellers. that will make engines more efficiency by up to 20% higher. of course they are expensive and not very reliable, but they really make it.
A heavy cruiser, 40.5kn speed very good and exagerated but good for evading shell, being only 19.000t displacement with engine that produce 180.000hp is kinda unrealistic, although i have seen worst (a battlecruiser with speed of 44kn and my destroyer that can get up to 72kn)
