GE ES44AC

18.3k Thomasj041  7.2 years ago

I replicated the GE ES44AC from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. The General Electric ES44AC is a more recent replacement for the Dash 9 44CW, and is part of the Evolution Series of trains. There are two main variations in AC and DC, and it has 4,400 horsepower (440 in game) from electric motors on each axle. It's a diesel electric locomotive which means the electric motors drive the train, and the diesel motor generates the electricity. As far as my SimplePlanes recreation goes, the computer displays had some issues I couldn't fix with brake pressure and overspeed gauges. Hope you like it anyway. For SimplePlanes railway mod compatibility, just set the rotators that turn the wheels to floppy.

I could copy this train's controls, but it would have to be different for an Acela. @QingyuZhou

I would definitely consider an Acela HHP-8 or Union Pacific DDA40X. @QingyuZhou

BTW are you also planning to build a Union Pacific locomotive or Acela Express? Those are also my favorite. @Thomasj041
