Here is the new weapon mount designed by AMC, the R/M-280! Similar to the 226, it has an armored cab capable of holding 4 persons, an engine bay with side vents and a large space on the rear for a weapon of mass destruction of your choice. It improves on the armor and offroad capabilities of the previous vehicle in its class.

This variant of the R/M-280 includes a spinning radar (looks familiar, doesn't it?) and the "Cancer" 155mm tank destroyer cannon. Two spare wheels can be carried behind the engine bay, along with other supplies like extra fuel.

The "Cancer" TD cannon is mounted on the flat bed on the R/M-280. For a more realistic traverse with existing SP systems, it was mounted to face the rear. This variant has 16 special high explosive 155mm rounds which are specifically developed to destroy small groups of weak targets.

Preliminary testing shows a muzzle velocity of about 1700 mph. This was done with a speed detector (cockpit block) with the same weight as a provided round (weighing 50 lbs).

Why is the cannon so big? This is because due to it being an auto-loading, standalone weapon, where it stores the ammunition internally. It was never designed to be used on a tank, where ammunition is often stored outside the cannon.

This combination works best for medium range support, but can also work for short range fighting along other units or "camping".

The R/M-280 also supports many other heavy weapons. This makes it a popular choice as a single unit can be modified relatively quickly for different uses.

( i ) The gun sight provides a (un)reliable estimate when shooting. Be sure to anticipate bullet drop from ballistic trajectory. The sight markings are as follows:
- 400m (0.25 miles) between short lines
- 800m (0.5 miles) between long lines
Note: due to the game only providing one decimal place for distance, and the lack of proper testing facilities, you will experience some inaccuracy on the sight.

( i ) The munition used in-game is a scaled Boom 25. This allows for some errors when shooting vehicles.

( i ) This creation does not have any parts with shifted mass.

( i ) It is fairly easy to extract the cannon for personal use. Users only have to grab by the rotator. However, the gun mount may be more difficult to separate cleanly. Standard asset use rules apply.

FYI: You can use the cannon barrel to flip yourself over if you roll.
