LINEAR ACTUATOR
tired of pistons being annoying? well now you dont have to deal with them anymore! with this LINEAR ACTUATOR, you can have all the benefits of a piston without any of the annoyances! with rock solid connections and no weird breaking issues, you can do anything you wish!
To save the linear actuator, grab it from the bottom and save as sub assembly.
This is the same size as a regular piston, it should theoretically be a drop-in replacement
Pros:
Strong attachment points that dont wiggle
Can act like a piston and suspension spring at the same time
Can be easily configured to extend longer than a normal piston
Less performance cost
Completely customizable
Cons:
Difficult to set up
Harder to attach to things
Requires knowledge of FT
Hard to set speed limit
May bend if configured incorrectly
Piston is shorter than max extension length (on this specific linear actuator)
Hard to configure inputs
Has limited strength (though a normal piston will bug out long before you reach the maximum limit with a linear actuator)
The tradeoffs are MORE than worth it though.

@Rb2h I've been busy
Linear actuators don't run off of an input controller like other parts do, they just take whatever number you give it and just rolls with it, so you have to get that number exactly how you want it before feeding it in
@V Took you a bit lol
@Rb2h you have to use the smooth() function to make the value gradually change.
.
With your desired min, max and mult values set, use this code:
smooth(Activate1, X)
Replacing X with the rate of change that you want. The bigger the number, the slower it moves
.
Use
GearDown
Instead of the Landing gear input if you wanna do that.@V How do you edit the speed?
I'm trying to make my Canopy open like the su-57's
It currently just teleports to full without time to fully open
Happens with actiongroups and the LandingGear button
@V It can be configured, the suspension for a war tank
@Monarchii I did it with my control base landing gear
@V ah alright, thanks, kinda had issues with pistons.. I wanna set it up to basically go from 0 to 1 with an input but it seems that's not possible with control bases right?
@Monarchii control bases don't like directly working with FT, try using an activation group if you have one to spare
can you actually like set it up as a Boolean of sort? cause like i tried and can't, hmh...
Your genius V.
@SaabJ29 😆😆😆
why is this in my jet stream
Control bases are one of the most useful and versatile parts to ever be added to this game.
Controls, pistons, TVC engines, etc. are all made easier, with less parts and more reliable thanks to this thing, who knew adding a single part could change so much.

Hold on a bit @Default4
Hi @Default4
Do u have a discord acc rn @ReturnOfJeffChandler
JEFF HELLO @ReturnOfJeffChandler
:0 @Default4
it's like a target factory, if that's the case then I think I can make it myself lmao
YES
@V I just hope I can get home in time to download it before it gets deleted
@V Piston But Pro Max, Now U Can Make Costume Piston.
So you can make a controllable piston now for VR?
@Default4 I know what you are thinking of, dont
