E-2B Hawkeye

  • The Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is an American all-weather, carrier-capable tactical airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft. This twin-turboprop aircraft was designed and developed during the late 1950s and early 1960s by the Grumman Aircraft Company for the United States Navy as a replacement for the earlier, piston-engined E-1 Tracer, which was rapidly becoming obsolete.

  • The E-2 also received the nickname "Super Fudd" because it replaced the WF (later E-1) "Willy Fudd". In recent decades, the E-2 has been commonly referred to as the "Hummer" because of the distinctive sounds of its turboprop engines, quite unlike that of turbojet and turbofan jet engines.

notes:

very gud AEW, smol and one of its kind
unlike the other AEWs during its era, this was the first one designed for such role
i like AEW
yes, literal radar in the sky, i mean satelites also count, so ill count it in

updates made:

  • Updated model (includes fuselage reshaping, added yaw surface control and new flaps) to match B variant
  • Updated interior, added cockpit interior
  • Updated livery, now matches the VAW-185
livery (idk i think it is)

controls:

Standard Aircrafts Control

AG1: Engine 1
AG2: Engine 2
AG3: Access Door
AG6: Fold Wings
AG7: Arrestor Hook

(Engine 1 and 2 need time to spool up before going full throttle, just be patient)

armaments..?:

  • just some countermeasures, best of luck if it runs out of ammo

bye

(sorry i lied about the last post being the last build i will make)

@foury2 you've done a great Job but 2 things to note... the right aileron is incorrect as it mimics the left side when you turn and the other thing is the E2 doesn't have a rudder on the left inner vertical stabiliser

@ThomasRoderick yes. Therefore, it's just an:

Nvm, just checked the technical drawings, the C-2 had a shorter nose and a flatter ventral fuselage. The domeless E-2 is most likely this one, in which an E-2D had its radome damaged by hail and was flown from its home base to another base for radome replacement.
