"It is astounding how such results were achieved through what was, essentially, a process comparable to stumbling through a dark room."

I tried some different techniques on this one. Feedback is welcome.

Originally designed for space flight, the V-DYA was re-purposed for aquatic purposes after a near-fatal design error became apparent. This error came from the central engine system of the vehicle, which was designed to detach, and provide a remote source of power. Even if the engine system was within optimal performance parameters, the energy link would be severed after the main vehicle would reach altitudes of 200,000 feet. This unfortunate effect did not occur for aquatic activities, so the vehicle was then redesigned for use in water, as well as air. V-DYA prototypes can be most commonly seen on gas giant planets, where the line between liquid and gas is uncertain.

Controls:
Activator 1 PLUS VTOL: Detach engine pod, activate engine pod hover engine.
Activator 2: Afterburner
Activator 3: Thrust vectoring (pitch axis only)
Trim: Trim

Tips:
- The afterburner will only be deactivated if you bring the throttle down, THEN deactivate group 2.
- Trimmed and stable flight occurs at 25% throttle.
- When under water, try not to deviate too much from level flight. 30 degrees maximum for optimal control.
- Due to the scaled cockpit, missile locking is, well, odd. The circle should be much smaller, so just aim the gun sights when locking.

@ThomasRoderick I have had trouble with zeroOnDeactivate for a while haha, I only realized what it did a few months ago.

The afterburner will only be deactivated if you bring the throttle down, THEN deactivate group 2. Did you just forget to set zeroOnDeactivate to true?

    • Yup I know this post is ancient, but I'm just too snarky for my own good.

@spefyjerbf your very welcome. And don't worry, nothing you ever make will be underrated, you're just too good for that!

@AWESOMENESS360 Thank you! I always thought that this aircraft was underrated, so the comment really means a lot to me.

This is super cool! It's so fun to dive underwater with it, and I love the effect with the beacon lights when you fire guns! I've always thought it'd be cool to have a plane in real life that is capable of diving underwater and "flying" around while doing so, it'd be like a flying submarine!

@Franticmatty Just noticed that you are streaming! This plane is fairly simple to fly. If you want it to go into water, then you should read the controls. But for simple flying, it's easy. Just avoid the afterburner.

@Meep261 Yes. For now, at least. I might make a forum post to give some context.

@Fjorge I have heard of the game, but for creating a fictional universe, I would rather make maps to compliment some of my storylines. I tried to do that with the badlands map, and might do something like that with mapmaking in the future.

@spefyjerbf do you play Universe Sandbox 2? It would be a good tool to create your fictional universe...

@SUPERSAMROCK Oh yeah, probably should have used custom landing gear for that.
