You definitely weren't lying about high maneuverability, my lord that thing does cobras for days! I love the look of the airframe, despite the fact that you can see the inside of the landing gear through the hollow fuselage parts (maybe block the front off with the blackening fuselage intakes next time?). The craft also loses sooo much energy during turning (even with mouse joystick), but I do think the control surface setup is nifty. All in all, an uproot, I quite like this one!
It definitely does the intercepting part well, I can't deny that. But Jesus Christ, tow rapid-firing 150mm guns? What are you trying to take out, a Battlestar? XD
Jokes aside those mountings to, unfortunately, produce quite a bit of drag. If you can figure out the x,y,z positioning of parts, I'd recommend moving them closer to the fuselage. Apart from that, a solid enough design. Mind if I tinker around with it a bit?
I definitely see what you were doing here, the payload is solid and performance is pretty good at altitude (the roll rate even a tad much for a bomber). If you can get around to using adjustable fuselage blocks in the future, you could also make this pretty aesthetically pleasing too. I hope you won|t mind me tinkering with this design a bit.
It's great to see experience accumulate over time, especially when that experience is used to improve the results of one's work. Times of reflection like this are great, and I'm surprised I was even worth mentioning at all. XD Nonetheless, I hope that we can make this game even better as time goes on.
@Dicc I'm glad you think this mockup is accurate enough. As stated in the description, this was heavily inspired by the Zero, but as I never strive to build replicas (as I have neither the skill nor patience) I know I cut short on some details. But the general Idea is the same, yeah.
@Mustang51 try looking for the "aero blast" I don't have the model personally so there will be inaccuracies...then again, I don't strive to build replicas
:)
These kinds of posts are a lovely way to give back to a community. Although like others I could write a book about undeperforming (albeit the builds are often admittedly simple...hence the name of the game), I would like to get this out there.
A mate and I used our big brains together to figure out an automatic variabke-geometry wing sweep system using the new possibilities in 1.9. The plane itself is basic, yet for the amount of work that went into it I think it'd be cool for my mate as well if more get to see, use, evaluate and improve the mechanism.
@TheBlaster67 believe it or not, most of these planes are just my backlog. For a long time, I didn't upload but built a lot. I wanted to get these out there before concentrating on newer, more optimised builds. :)
An interesting build, adding a jet engine and countermeasures as well as AAMs are a great idea for modernisation (although the official modernisatiion programme, Nordwind J, didn't recieve much interest). Theplatform is quite unstable, I'd advise relocating thee jet to somewhere inside the fuselage or even clipping with the prop engine if it would wok. Nice build
nonetheless. #StayEpic
@teodor99 thanks a lot for the feedback and the upgraded version. Why not make that listed tho? XD
And @TheBlaster67 why not toss me the link so I can check it out? :) No need to apologise, that is what this game/community is there for.
@Homemade sure why not, although I don't have the skill or patience to actually improve on your high tier builds XD . And if you like anything of mine, help yourself XD
And @Mobius1Cyka I really liked the original design, is very smooth and MIG like, especially the cockpit design.
@BuiltBionixInd10 fun fact, i originally concieved this Aircraft as a "melee" aircraft, with 2 long potrusions resembling blades instead of the bombs. So you have the right idea with that meme XD
Don't live in the US of A myself, but down here in Germany we I live near the Air Force base of Rammstein near Wiesbaden. A lot of US transports fly overhead where I live, old school Hercs and C5 Galaxy transport planes are frequent. We also get the occasional Black Hawk, whereas the Luftwaffe exercises their Typhoon and Tornados around my area.
I do agree with @Liensis with this one, on the Wikipedia page for delta wings there is a neat graph depicting different delta wing types. This should clearly work.
What a delight to see as a spotlight. Just absolutely cool, not much else to say. I love me some boxy cars!

A very nifty little bugger, kinda cute too
I love the handling in the water, it feels more like a speedboat than a cruiser. And the guns have some nice heft to them
@Mobius1Cyka I was considering it but the wing landing gear made it a real fuss, so I opted for wingtips instead.

So you think translating Guinea Pig to German makes scarier? Quite some Maus logic. Jokes aside neat build

@Mustang51 Simple is the name of the game :) Glad you liked it
+1Too bad there hasn't been a small update about this, but I'm pretty sure @DerekSP has this one in the bag :)
I feel challenged....but can you rival my TRIPLANE???
+2@teodor99 this was actually inspired by your own builds. Am just not fussed with finer detailing XD And not gonna lie, yours are still superior.
Perhaps a odd Mix of a Westland Wyvvern and the tail of some modern twin tailed jet. IDFK. Definately is wiggety wack.
@Mustang51 try looking for the "aero blast" I don't have the model personally so there will be inaccuracies...then again, I don't strive to build replicas

@Mustang51 Cheers dude, this was in fact based on a Matchbox toy plane I saw in my local supermarket XD
I love the wang, but was referring to the driver XD Will surely test this when I'm back frrom work :)
Look at that doood XD
@teodor99 I guess this post also reflects my personality
@Plane66373637 We at Epic Engineering like to shine XD

@TheBlaster67 go ahead, all modifications are your own venture. I think this could make a very good fighter....
That is a whopper of a post! Awesome evaluation of the competition and thanks for the feedback
+1Nice!
Is that extra pair of elevators the only major difference or am I missing something? Cool build nonetheless.

meanwhile here I am trying to figure out if I can translate this to a Blade T2000
+1@Mobius1Cyka always glad to please :) Thanks for your ongoing support
@SnoWFLakE0s am trying to big brain that now....but always sucked at stuff like this XD
+1This smells like automatic variable geometry wings that adjust to your airspeed......conveniant timing
+1F
To be fair the Kraken has a cave, although it's kind of hard to enter and survive....
Excessive lift on the wings can also cause that issue, try a semi-symmetric airfoil if you have a flat bottom one built in
@BuiltBionixInd10 fun fact, i originally concieved this Aircraft as a "melee" aircraft, with 2 long potrusions resembling blades instead of the bombs. So you have the right idea with that meme XD
Is a fun competition, let's hope you get some more cool designs
@BlackBoA cheers, I went with the theme of simplistic and crude for this competition. On my profile, I have way more refined designs XD
@USA1783 Cheers, I always write them in Character, albeit I went the extra mile for this one XD
@daxxiam looks like you got it by now XD I used this mod: https://www.simpleplanes.com/Mods/View/870822/Upload-with-Screenshots
I've been inactive due to a broken PC will be uploading some builds again soon though XD Have a great day and #StayEpic
@goboygo1 cheers, issue has been solved since then (as seen in newer uploads XD)

+1@Kitten777 hentai is good, futa not....understandable now? XD
@Kitten777 The latter is by no means the problem, quite the opposite IMO, but the former.....not my thing XD
@Kitten777 the person who wanted me to build this is into that....hence why I refuse to comment XD
@Minecraftpoweer We will add no further comment to the choice of given name. It was an intended pun, yet one against our will XD
@Delphinos glad you like it :)
@robloxweponco personal best so far 1:19, However, our team is not specialised in driving as of now ;) Feel free to let us know your personal best
