My guess is this is made with Rotators with limited range of motion. The door opens in the first half or the Rotator's motion and closes them with the later half.
This setup has problems because the assembly compresses itself in the first half of the rotator's motion and too much compression could lead to the whole thing to not work or just explode. To remedy this you used a strong spring so the assembly can compress/decompress itself without problems. This would explain why the door opens fast but closes slowly.
if you open up the engine compartment you would see that it has a very simple circuitry. so there is no way to put controls for engine power other than the on/off switch

To remove the annoying sound of guns, increase roundsPerSecond to 4 digit number then reduce burstCount to a low number (1 if you want single shot only)
@BACconcordepilot if it's made of Styrofoam it would probably fly.. though it will only glide longer than a glider because no motors for control surfaces.
