@AeroEngineering
I suggest not.
Flares are only supposed to disrupt an enemy's radar so it can't lock on you.
To destroy missiles, simply put bunch of angled guns on a rotator and rotate the guns while firing them. That might work better.
@zap210
This was proven to be better a game to work with ...
interesting bumpers that ACTULALY WORK!!!
As far as exploding, I never had a single issue.
Pad was VERY slow ...
@22zxSnakeEyes
I changed all of his bumper into my bumper, and increased base length.
@zap 210 I have difficulty with my piston-driven "flippers"
I also need a new board design...
@tylerdeveneuxmusic
The reason in not scaling wheels is that when you scale wheels, they appear to be smaller but their hitbox was still the large one, which can lead to extreme amounts of problem (ex: visual impair of wheels rotating and vehicle moving), vehicle floating in the air, etc.
I specifically redone the wheels and suspension to make sure the ride was smooth and responsive.
@FlipposMC
no collision is NOT good.
I cannot winch the entire thing up now!
I just needed a simple winch for the use on a mobile crane.
I can use PARTS from yours, but erm... your "line"...it was NOT working.
You don't expect a proto-plane to land nicely.
Looks awesome, although I was quite skeptical about how he "did a short hop" if this was the actual performance (simple planes physics)
Looks fantastic.
@NovelCard
Just to give you a head up, this vehicle actually looks quite nice.
Two things, though.
One:
1012 air brakes that don't do anything.
Two:
Big slabs of white (big board of white stuff, like the roof and walls of the container, can be substituted with things like structural panel and fuslage blocks that can take up lots of place instead of numerous blocks and reduce part count.
Other than that, I am good.
@Zyvx
Got that right. My next move was to move this set of propulsion system to the land, then to the sea. The only problem is that the engine was a bit big for land usage.
@ChallengerHellcat
I noticed a interesting performance issue (that is NOT constant), where the engine could have decided to rotate the other way in the air suddenly (not really, but it creates a jerk on the entire craft.). I had NOT been able to test it on a PC, though, and for now, Physics Settings will help decide the maximum throttle the engine can push to. (on a computer it seems like it can do at 100% though)
Go check out @Visify. He made other piston excellent piston engines. (and gun engines!)
So you decided to scrap a OV-10 Bronco, put 100mm armor plates on it, and hang oversized rockets and bombs onto its side.
Expecting a 88mm high-velocity cannon (for blasting at tanks) on it? Not really.
But this thing is cool enough.
Well true, this is complicated. But not as complicated as some others go.
First, GROUP 1 ON. (engage throttle control)
Second, Throttle up. (DO NOT throttle to 90% or above)
Third, VTOL down (or up, depends on the direction the plane goes). You can do this all the way down/up. (and should do it for maximum speed)
Then, to take off, you must get to 50mph at least. Keep the tail wheel on the ground by pulling back the stick all the time, and try to keep the plane from steering away. That is the main goal.
Then, the three wheels will lift off at roughly the same time. Level off the plane so it maintains a speed of 60 mph or higher. Climb to whatever altitude you want to cruise, and throttle to 90%, VTOL max (up or down).
To land, follow the take off guide in the other order. DO NOT BRAKE TOO HARD, though.
@ChallengerHellcat
It work by having the piston create a rotation between the two parts, driving the main propeller. A second layer of propellers (on the main body of engine) was added to reuse the rotating energy of the engine itself, and the entire thing was then mounted on a free-rotator at the front.
Feel free to use it, by the way. Just say it come from me.
I was trying to beat the ... Indi Air Race with it.
1:13 second (30 second from missing 2 rings at the high G-turn)
And that is at 50% throttle.
Because I realized that zooming at 850mph across something with that much difficulty is probably leading to a inevitable crash, so I stopped that and changed my mind.
And I zipped through the goal at 500mph. Blue Cow was disqualified, so you can win it even with the ... bush plane and miss all rings beside the last.
But Damn. 43 seconds! and only missed two rings!
This thing was fast enough to dip into hell and back up without losing a hair.
El Diablo's dead. I beat him by 30 second (amazing!) and was The Dragon.
@enginer365 @tsampoy
I spotlighted this build because the piston drivetrain. Will give credit to you in the future.
But meanwhile, your wheels DO can be improved......
However even the round fuselage will still have a square hitbox.
Let's see what we can do.
@breitling
It flies. Wonderfully.
The main thing is that the powerful propeller you use is too heavy and unefficient(the blade is only that big, so they don't deliver power efficiently, and even though you give the engines 3000 horses the blade can probably deliver 500). I substituted them with custom-crafted block engines.
I also redo the wings (so they are not placed back side front) and redo the fuslages on them entirely. The badge was also thinned out.
The blades are very slightly wider and very slightly bigger so to provide enough efficiency. It can take off with 250 x 4 engines, but for better performance (and because you don't cruise with 100% throttle, I leave it with 500 x 4 setup.) The cockpits were sunk and the edges invisible and look much better now.
Awesome one in my collection.
I made a special edition of my Jet Racer with matching performance.
However, I am still waiting for the 24 hours.
Seeing lots of interesting uploads now... :P
lol...... facepalm more facepalm even more facepalm
Not saying it is stupid, but, erm... yet more facepalm
..................................................................................................
If you call that as controlled flight, sure.
@FuzzyAircraftproductions I am, on the other hand, curious about how you are going to judge it.
Interesting...
Very low drag point (although my lowest record is 365) but with significantly more power. Goes very fast. Control is a little bit too interesting for a normal plane to have.
INTERESTING. But you can totally spare the 2 parts for the horizontal stablizers. (but this is cooler, so let's just stick with this one)
For one second I cannot understand what is WH40k but then I looked at it and 't was like, Oooooo............
+1.
*: I am not saying you must come up with real working tracks, but wheel-based "fake" ones (that have only few wheels) might just be as bad. A entire track made of wheels sounds (and works) great, though.
Overall a great piece.
The nose is too long.
If you are trying to make a aircraft carrier(from the plate sticking out) consider just remove the entire red chunk, and shrinking the head to be 100% smaller (like, half the length and width)
Also consider make the plate (runway) wider.
Make the runway 50% wider (1.5x width), hull 100% wider(2x width) (beside control tower, which is perfect)
I don't know what those "pipes" are for, though.
I assume they are guns but they certainly are too big to be guns.
If you are making chimney...good luck.
@JohnnyBoythePilot
See, World of Tanks had this new graphics engine made, and it still can run on my 6 year(turning 7 years old!) laptop (although somehow my device is having difficult cooling)
But the minimum graphics had improved, with only a tad more heat generation.
@Ryujyo1933
But hey, consider add some description.
The plane is DECENT. (I don't like fuselage wings, but the plane's nose can be a bit more beautiful.)
But it's quite neat.
@AeroEngineering

Woot. Such a old build.
Any thought to make it "modern"?
interesting...
Nice arcade game.
+4AND, exactly 500 parts!
more like "confetti launcher"
good job dude
Extremely durable.
Which indicated that it was not very responsive.
Good enough.
Except when the wheeled carriages part does not look very realistic...
+1save for one thing:
There is actually only 3 pairs of wheels on each side.
@enginer365
In fact, if you search 0-8-0 steam locomotives, there are plenty.
Make it float, too!
@tylerdeveneuxmusic

Thanks for all these spotlights, upvotes, and uh...... likes.
@Engineer365 Feel free to use my wheels, too.
Anyway, I had made my own vehicle winch, as of now.
+1Note the square collision on the round fuslage!
So it was NOT supposed to retract all the way up...
+1All right then.
But me testing on dry land showed it didn't work...
+1I meant, I tried to have it retract the line, but it can't do it.
@TakicraftCorporation
Yes, but WHAT?

Decent car. Kind of odd to fit such an engine in it but it certainly look nice.

Unmodded, this is probably the one that occupy the least space.
Because you need that 2-block engine.

Wait it is just a box...
You nabbed... 15 * 41 = 615 points.
Not so much that it will bring you from bronze to gold, but erm...Hmm. 41 upvotes.
SURE. Nice joke in there. (Srsly it was a nice joke there)
Btw I am hungry. Any potatoes to give away?
SMART.
Such menace.

@ASDFASDF1 That ain't true. WWII planes see some ~~dumb missiles~~ and bombs as well as machine guns.
He nudged the machine gun. That is good.

@MEERKAT978 Well in this case, you can simply have the propeller be the nose of the plane.
