I immediately upvoted based on just having seen the movie, and thinking it looks great! Then I downloaded, and, man, does it fly nice too! Lots of fun!
@spaghetti , thanks for the challenge. Slow planes are my jam.... Wing loading is key. Keep it low. 14 lbs/sq ft is a standard light plane, below 10 for STOL, below 5 for superSTOL. Also, a non-zero angle of incidence on the main wing helps.
I like the looks of this. Nice plane! I was playing around with it and discovered there is still 1100 gallons of fuel onboard. That's over 6500 lbs, and is probably enough fuel to make a transatlantic flight, which wouldn't be fun (single seater with no bathroom on an 18h+ flight). You'll get much better short takeoff and landing performance if you dump some of that fuel (might have to rebalance a bit after).
Submitted a contender. I really like your push-pull engine pod, and so needed to create something around it. I like these kind of competitions where a specific part is put out there to work from...
Thanks! Fun contest... hate to be the guy, but it was educational too. High weight = poor STOL performance. Hunting for weight to lose was interesting. Makes you think about how to keep it at a minimum in future a/c.

+1@WinsWings , thanks for the spotlight and encouragement! I enjoyed making this.

@Dragoranos, dang, I could have posted by then. I just took extra time. Ahh well. I'll be posting it anyway...
Thanks for this challenge, I never thought to create this kind of airplane before. A new contender is coming!
Hope it's okay that I used it in my Dragon plane... Works good. https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/fXB2m7/FN-02-Dragon
